For over a quarter of a century readers have been joining Elmer the
patchwork elephant on his exciting adventures. Now Elmer's classic
first story is available in this lovely board book edition. With
its sturdy pages for little fingers, this gift is the perfect
introduction to the world of Elmer.
Twee uiteenlopende nagdiere leer mekaar ken en besluit om saam 'n hotel
oop te maak. Erdvark is impulsief en vol planne, heeltemal anders as
Silke.

A fantasy tale in which the animals can speak and walk on two legs.
They wear clothes, go to school and work. Sometimes the youngsters
are a little naughty, just like human children! They come to live
in Farmer Evans' wood and work for him. In time they work for other
farmers too.
Best-selling children's author-illustrator Martha Day Zschock takes
young children on a short tour of the Ocean State in her new board
book. In "Hello, Rhode Island!," a Rhode Island Red parent and
child visit the Zoo in Providence, the Topiary Garden in
Portsmouth, and the Beavertail Lighthouse in Jamestown. They ride
the Flying Horse Carousel in Watch Hill, play on a Narragansett
beach, and celebrate July 4th in Bristol. In Newport they see
sailing ships in the summer and mansions dressed for the holidays
in the winter. Returning to Providence, they are amazed by
WaterFire! For ages 2-5.

'An engaging tale that explores many important themes. We can only hope that Roz serves as the template for all future robots. Peter Brown's illustrations are as marvellous as ever!' Coralie Bickford-Smith, author of THE FOX AND THE STAR
When robot Roz opens her eyes for the first time, she discovers that she is alone on a remote, wild island. She has no idea how she got there or what her purpose is - but she knows she needs to survive. After battling a fierce storm and escaping a vicious bear attack, she realises that her only hope for survival is to adapt to her surroundings and learn from the island's unwelcoming animal inhabitants. As Roz slowly befriends the animals, the island starts to feel like home - until, one day, her mysterious past comes back to haunt her.
From bestselling and award-winning author and illustrator Peter Brown comes a heartwarming and action-packed novel about what happens when nature and technology collide. By turns funny, moving, surprising and dramatic, this is a novel that is as thought-provoking as it is enchanting.

Follow Juney Brown Toes, a young and adventurous Hare, her friends
Slow Freddy and Tufty Thomas, and many others, as they spend a
remarkable 'Mad March' day, racing, chasing and being chased by
friends and enemies alike. What will Juney do when the evil Grey
Hound shows up unexpectedly in the middle of a dangerous 'Hare of
the Dog' game, and will Farmer, and his daughter Samantha, be of
any help to save poor Slow Freddy from the jaws of the Grey Hound!
Hare's have been a fascination of mine for sometime. I've rarely
seen one! I remember walking above Lancaster, my hometown, some
years ago. It was a beautiful, crisp, sunny morning and the ground
was covered in a layer of snow. In nearly every field we walked
through a Hare would bolt from the hedge nearby and race across the
snow covered ground. They were magical to watch, almost alien in
appearance, and completely fascinating to me. I have since done
research on them, and they become more interesting with every new
fact I learn. They are ancient animals, and ever present in
mythologies from around the world. They are low down on the food
chain, and even buck rabbits have been known to kill Leverets now
and then. Speed and stealth are their only defenses, and they have
been clocked at near forty-five miles an hour, one of the fastest
land animals. Anyway I digress, this book is about Hares, it is
primarily written as a 'read to' book, for children of all ages. It
is an adventure/fantasy short story, and Hares are the heroes, with
a little girl taking a strong supporting role. The cherry-wood
carving of the Hare actually exists in my garden, and its origins,
bought from the side of the road from a bodger, are true too.
Otherwise this is a work of fiction written out of a love and
fascination for Hares, I hope you enjoy.

The team who brought grins to young readers with "The Boston
Balloonies" and "I Met a Moose in Maine" have created a third
charmer about a family of codfish and their friends. According to
Shankman's rhyming narrative: The Cods of Cape Cod / Love their
summer vacation, / And though they could go / Anywhere in the
nation, / They keep coming back / To their favorite location, /
'Cause they know that Cape Cod's / A vacation sensation! The Cods
of Cape Cod / Have a house on the beach, / And it's just the right
size, / With a fish tank for each. . . . To this colorful
fish-friendly house come the Cods' many fishy friends, shrimp comes
from Sandwich, bass from Mashpee, swordfish from Chatham, and so
on. And boy, do they know how to have fun!

shed but is warned off. Upset he begins to cry and the mice feel
sorry for him. They get Sam Sparrow to help and Tom Cat manages to
go to Farmer Jones dustbin to get scraps. Grandma has an idea to

they need a new home. They also bring along their Ginger kitten,
George with them. Tom Cat then introduces George to mice and other
creatures and stresses they aren't dinner.
