Every child will enjoy "Things You Might See" whether they're
learning to read or aren't quite there yet. Using simple,
brightly-colored drawings and often funny rhymes, you'll read the
text accompanying each drawing and point out the last word in each
rhyme at the same moment your child sees the word and guesses the
rhyme, making this book a fun, interactive experience for both you
and your child each time you share the book together. Some of the
things you and your child will see are a cake made out of rainbows,
a mitten on a nose, a boy in a hole, a frog in a bowl, a skunk
that's very smelly and a button on a belly. Each of the books in
the "Things You Might See" series became #1 bestsellers within days
of their publication. This book is destined to become a favorite of
children and the people they love for generations to come.

The Kids 4ever Club is a book of fun and creative activities for
children and the young at heart. Questions accompany each activity
that spur a child's creativity and imagination. In a world where
many children sit passively in front of the television set or
playing with premade toys for hours on end, the Kids 4ever Club
urges them to actively pursue activities that will challenge them.
The husband and wife team of Tim and Gail Scullion have created and
belonged to the "Kids 4ever Club" for years, and have just recently
decided to share their club with other "kids"-both young and old.
The couple vowed early on in their marriage to never forget what it
was like to be young and have fun, because you don't quit playing
because you grow old-you grow old because you quit playing. Tim
decided to use his master's degree in education to stimulate
children's imagination through fun: By making learning fun, you can
create a life-long desire to learn. To be a "kid 4ever" is to make
a change of your whole outlook on life, and it is both mind
changing and cathartic. If you are a parent or grandparent, all you
have to do is spend some time with your child or grandchild and
really listen to what he or she says. Children will make the change
for you: They will open your eyes to an uncomplicated, unprejudiced
way of looking at the world. They will lead you to the simpler
things in life: Conversation, imagination, play, and discovery. Be
careful-you might learn something from them They will reteach you
some of life's most important lessons; lessons that you have
learned and tucked away somewhere in the farthest reaches of your
mind. The mind of a child is a guide to a treasure-the treasure of
rediscovering your inner child. Spend quality time with your
child/children, and every once in a while put away the premade toys
and video games and imaginate: (That's a kids 4ever term for
imagine + create-actually it's a real, but obscure English word.)
Imaginate your own toys, games, musical instruments and activities.
Stimulate the creative juices in your own child's mind instead of
letting them sit passively in front of the television set. Don't
just let your children be a member of the Kids 4ever Club, but join
too Be an active part of your child's life and make learning,
discovering, and imaginating fun. If you as a
parent/grandparent/teacher do this, your kids will want to learn,
will never stop learning, and will be creative and successful as
adults.
Offers readers a variety of activities they can do to get outside
in spring. Filled with fun facts about the season, bonus sidebar
activities, and a "Get Outside!" special feature, this book is sure
to inspire kids to explore the great outdoors.
Follow Ted, a "Toys for Tots" toy, as he travels from the store
shelves to his final destination . . . . where he becomes a special
gift to a child on Christmas morning. One Christmas in 1947, Diane
Hendricks, wife of Major Bill Hendricks, USMCR, made a doll and
wanted her husband to go out and give the toy to an organization
designed to help children in need. When he explained to her that no
such organization existed, she demanded that they start one. In
1948, the proud tradition of Marines bringing toys to children in
need on Christmas evolved into what is now known as "Toys for
Tots."

Hide and Seek With Daddy has to be the best game ever! This
charming children's book brings us out in the woods beside
seven-year-old Johnny and five-year-old Valerie as they play with
their father. The kids hear a voice in the woods saying: "One, two,
three, come and find me. I'm hiding behind you, out in the trees."
Both children shout, "Daddy!" and run into the woods. Daddy shouts
out another clue. "Four, five, six, I'm not in those sticks. I'll
give you a clue, it goes like this; take three steps forward and
one step back and look for something green and black." The children
find a green and black turtle with a note taped to its back,
saying, "You're getting warmer!" Daddy gives them more clues that
take them further into the woods. What will Daddy say next? The
final clue leads Johnny and Valerie back into the house, where
Daddy is sitting in the kitchen with his arms stretched wide for a
hug. He hands the kids their final note. Can you guess what it
reads? "Twenty-one, twenty-two, twenty-three, I'm happy as can be,
to have you as my children, I'm glad you found me." This is the
third book in the Johnny and Valerie series written by Terri Ward.
Her next in the series is Treasure Hunt on the Hill. She is an
occupational therapist in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. "My goal is
to help people feel joy, whether it's children being read to,
adults reading to their children or parents being inspired to have
fun with their children." Publisher's website:

Like "Circles of Dreams" (submitted recently), this is basically a
crop circle/mandala coloring book; however, this edition is
designed mainly with children in mind. It is 24 pages shorter, the
crop circle designs used are (in general) somewhat simpler, and
also contains various games, puzzles, drawing opportunities, etc.
Unlike "Circles of Dreams," it does not have page numbers, a table
of contents nor index.
When my mother made Raggedy Ann for me, Bessie's mother made a rag
doll for her, for we two always played together. Bessie's doll was
given the name of Raggedy Andy, and one of the two dolls was named
after the other, so that their names would sound alike. They had
faces just alike, I do not remember just how Raggedy Andy was
dressed, but I know he often wore dresses over his boy clothes when
Bessie and I decided that he and Raggedy Ann should be sisters for
the day.
For the happiness you have brought to them let me give to you the
doll of all my dolls, the doll I loved most dearly. My mother
called the doll Raggedy Andy and it was by this name that I have
always known him. Is it any wonder that I was surprised when I saw
the title of your book? Introduce Raggedy Andy to Raggedy Ann, dear
Johnny. Let him share in the happiness of your household.
There she sits, a trifle loppy and loose-jointed, looking me
squarely in the face in a straightforward, honest manner, a twinkle
where her shoe-button eyes reflect the electric light. Evidently
Raggedy has been to a "tea party" today, for her face is covered
with chocolate. She smiles happily and continuously.
"It's the nurse rolling up the arm-chair before the house to hide
it, so that it won't disgrace the castle. Hooray! Hooray! If they
don't see us they will forget all about us and we shall not be
burned up at all. Our nice old Racketty-Packetty House will be left
alone and we can enjoy ourselves more than ever--because we sha'n't
be bothered with Cynthia--Hello! let's all join hands and have a
dance."

Randolph Caldecott (1846-1886) was one of the most important
British illustrators. He transformed the world of decorated
children's books in the Victorian era. In 1877, he was asked by
Edmund Evans, the colour printer and talented engraver, to
illustrate two children's books. These books were an immediate
success and he went on to produce two books every Christmas until
he died. Caldecott chose all the stories and rhymes he illustrated
and occasionally wrote and added to the stories himself. His
delightful style and humour can still be enjoyed by young and old
alike. This story, 'Ride A Cock Horse To Banbury Cross', was
originally published in 1884. Many of the earliest children's
books, particularly those dating back to the 1900s and before, are
now extremely scarce and increasingly expensive. Pook Press are
working to republish these classic works in affordable, high
quality, colour editions, using the original text and artwork so
these works can delight another generation of children.

This coloring book for children features drawings by Louisa Poole
and poetry by Terry Milton. Illustrations of faeries, elves,
mermaids, unicorns, and more. Louisa Poole is the artist and
inspiration for The Merryday Tarot. She has a unique perspective
and appreciation for our planet Earth and the myriad of beings -
the beloved faeries, gnomes, elves, sprites, pixies, dragons,
unicorns, and friends - who call this beloved rainbow planet their
home. There is more to Nature than meets the naked eye! The
Merryday Coloring Book is an introduction to some of the magical
beings who are the caretakers of this "Garden of Eden" that we call
Earth. An entire world of "little people" and "Nature spirits"
exists, and they are eager to be recognized, experienced, and
acknowledged by you!
Walter Crane (1845-1915) was one of the earliest contributors to
children's literature and one of the most influential illustrators
in the development of children's colour picture books. Crane began
working for Edmund Evans in 1864 producing bright, colourful books
which revolutionised the type of children's books available. This
book 'A Masque Of Days, From The Last Essays Of Elia' was
originally published in 1901. Many of the earliest children's
