Bringing together the wisdom of East and West, the Indian Jesuit Anthony de Mello used stories and parables to awaken his listeners to an awareness of God's presence in their midst. Since his death in 1987, countless readers have been challenged to encounter the God who lies behind words, concepts, and religious formulas.
The World Is Desperate for What You Have As believers, we have received unimaginable grace from the Father. Unfortunately, we often separate our spiritual life from our everyday lives. We fail to value the grace given to us, and we miss the opportunity to bring heaven to earth. And then we wonder what light we can bring to a world in deep darkness. With depth and insight, Dr. John Jackson shows that grace distributed is the key to sweeping social change, hope and revival. Through biblical teaching and prophetic revelation, Dr. Jackson helps you partner with the Holy Spirit to step into the fullness of all God has called you to be--and to unleash the redemptive presence of Jesus in your home, workplace and community. God wants to use you right now, right where you are. It's time to become a heavenly ambassador that shares the grace you've been given with a world aching for transformation. "In this catalytic book lies an essential message for the Church today. I highly recommend it."--KRIS VALLOTTON "This Spirit-filled and deeply vulnerable book is a gift to us all. Don't miss it!"--MARGARET FEINBERG "Discover your God-given abilities and use them to usher the grace and love of Christ into the here and now."--SAMUEL RODRIGUEZ
Daily Companion is written for a specific age group, but is accessible to all Catholics. The scripture-based reflections are formulated to help young Catholics make better decisions throughout their lives.
This book is about the misguided obsession with the management of
sin that cripples too many Christians. It's about the view that
religion is all about sin...about how to hide side sin or how to
stop sinning all together.
From Christian Piatt: "When I was a teenager, my youth minister threw a bible at my head for asking questions." Too often, for various reasons, people don't have the opportunity to ask the hard questions they have about faith, religion, salvation and the bible. And when questions are left unanswered in communities of faith, people either seek answers elsewhere or lose interest all together. The purpose of the series is to collect the most compelling and challenging questions from various theological areas and pose them to a panel of "experts" who are challenged with responding in two hundred words or less in plain English. This volume addresses challenging or controversial questions about scripture collected from people on Facebook, MySpace, Twitter and other social networking media. Respondents include theology professors, clergy, lay leaders, liberals, conservatives and voices representing a spectrum of views. The idea behind the books is not so much to provide definitive answers as it is to stimulate thought, reflection and discussion. By offering multiple perspectives, readers have the opportunity to arrive at their own questions. Better, they come to understand that questioning faith is not taboo, but rather that it can be at the foundation of a strong and growing faith. The directive given to each respondent guided them to be concise and to speak in plan language, but also not to rely exclusively on "the Bible says it" justifications, or to wax abstract or overly intellectual. Instead, they write from personal experience as much as possible, and provide real-life contexts that will allow the average seeker or churchgoer to apply such ideas to their daily lives.
You are alive right now for a reason--your purpose predestined for such a time as this. As the world slips deeper into darkness, most Christians feel stuck, powerless to effect change. Yet changing the world--your world--starts with you, right where you are, with a heart full of fire for Jesus. Grounded in biblical teaching and drawing from his own renewal experiences, pastor and revivalist Glen Berteau emboldens you to get fed up with the ineffectual status quo, showing you how to * ignite the supernatural power God has placed in you * be filled up with the Holy Spirit * get fired up for what God can do through you * see beyond your current circumstance * and live a faith without limits You're a Kingdom weapon, energized by God's mighty power and forged to stand strong for what you believe, tear down strongholds, eradicate hatred and bring dead things to life. You are chosen to change the world. "Jesus calls passionate followers. My dear friend Glen Berteau provides a necessary spark for those growing indifferent toward their faith and needing revival."--JOHN BEVERE, bestselling author and minister; cofounder, Messenger International
We grow more spiritually by doing it wrong than by doing it right In Falling Upward, Fr Richard Rohr offers a new understanding of one of life's most profound mysteries: how our failing can be the foundation for our ongoing spiritual growth. Drawing on the wisdom from time-honoured myths, heroic poems, great thinkers and sacred religious texts, the author explores the two halves of life to show that those who have fallen, failed, or 'gone down' are the only ones who understand 'up'. The heartbreaks, disappointments and loves of the first half of life are actually stepping stones to the spiritual joys that the second half has in store for us. 'I thank God for Richard Rohr's sage-like presence in our culture: I honestly don't know where I'd be without it.' Brian Draper 'Richard Rohr at his vintage best: prophetic, pastoral, practical.' Cynthia Bourgeault 'A voyage into the mystery and beauty of healthy spiritual maturity.' Mehmet Oz, MD, host of the Dr Oz Show

A universal pattern can be found in all societies and in fact in all of creation. We see it in the seasons of the year, the stories of Scripture, and even in our own lives. In The Wisdom Pattern, Father Richard Rohr illuminates the way understanding and embracing this pattern can give us hope in difficult times and the courage to push through messiness - and even great chaos - to find a new way of being in the world. A new version of his earlier book Hope Against Darkness, Father Rohr offers reflections in The Wisdom Pattern that bring together a deep spirituality with Jungian psychology. They have been thoroughly updated for today's world, and reveal a vision of Christianity that speaks to the heart of twenty-first century society. The Wisdom Pattern is a book for anyone looking to understand better the patterns in the world around us, and seeking hope for a divided and turbulent world. It will leave you with a vision for moving forward with faith and courage, as well as renewed empathy and compassion for those around you.
Michael Savage is learned in many walks of science and respects much of it as much as he respects his religion but he will talk conclusively of the existence of God and the necessity of faith in our nation. Politics will have to be touched on because the left is quite simply at war with God, and Savage believes they are jeopardizing our very existence by removing references to religion from many areas of American life.

Feeling like you've blown it? Reached the point of no return? That your life hasn't gone as planned? If so, you are not alone. We all know what it feels like to have life disappoint us and not work out as we'd hoped. We all know what it's like to long for something different, something better, and something more... This six-session video study (DVD/digital video sold separately) shows us how God can use our messes and still make a masterpiece. Drawing on his own experiences and pivotal Bible stories, Louie Giglio, pastor and author of Don't Give the Enemy a Seat at Your Table, shows how God is all about comebacks. Samson had blown it repeatedly; nevertheless, he experiences tremendous triumph at the end of his life. The prodigal son, as Jesus describes him, returns home in disgrace only to be welcomed by his father with open arms. The list goes on: Joseph, Moses, and Peter all experienced comebacks. Jesus himself performed the greatest comeback of all by rising from the dead. God is in the business of giving fresh starts, and His plans will always prevail, even when our plans don't. For the times when we feel like our lives are in the garbage, and it's hard to see God's plan, this study guide will help you see: How God uses our circumstances to strengthen us and fulfill his good plan. How to respond in spirit when our dreams are dashed. How Jesus' life, death, resurrection, and ascension is not only enough to save us but also to sustain us. No matter what kind of disappointment or grief or pain or trouble or heartache we encounter, God always offers a new beginning, a change of heart, and a powerful spiritual turnaround. Our current circumstances do not get the final say in our lives. God does. Designed for use with The Comeback Video Study (sold separately).
