The New English Bible, completed in 1970, was the culmination of
more than twenty years' work by scholars and literary advisers
representing the major Protestant churches of the British Isles. An
authoritative translation made directly from the best Hebrew and
Greek texts and founded on all the resources of contemporary
scholarship, it aimed to present the full meaning of the original
in clear and natural modern English. This approach marked a
departure from the prevailing Bible translation philosophy and to
this day the NEB has a significant place in the history of the
Bible in English. The New English Bible is now reissued in this
classic 'Library Edition' format to coincide with the reissue of
the complete Cambridge Bible Commentaries series, which was itself
based on the NEB text.

The Septuagint is the term commonly used to refer to the corpus of
early Greek versions of Hebrew Scriptures. The collection is of
immense importance in the history of both Judaism and Christianity.
The renderings of individual books attest to the religious
interests of the substantial Jewish population of Egypt during the
Hellenistic and Roman periods, and to the development of the Greek
language in its Koine phase. The narrative ascribing the
Septuagint's origins to the work of seventy translators in
Alexandria attained legendary status among both Jews and
Christians. The Septuagint was the version of Scripture most
familiar to the writers of the New Testament, and became the
authoritative Old Testament of the Greek and Latin Churches. In the
early centuries of Christianity it was itself translated into
several other languages, and it has had a continuing influence on
the style and content of biblical translations. The Oxford Handbook
of the Septuagint features contributions from leading experts in
the field considering the history and manuscript transmission of
the version, and the study of translation technique and textual
criticism. The collection provides surveys of previous and current
research on individual books of the Septuagint corpus, on
alternative Jewish Greek versions, the Christian 'daughter'
translations, and reception in early Jewish and Christian writers.
The Handbook also includes several conversations with related
fields of interest such as New Testament studies, liturgy, and art
history.
The New Revised Standard Version is recognized in scholarly circles
as the most accurate translation into English of the original
Hebrew and Greek texts and is the most commonly used translation by
the global Catholic Church.
This special Catholic edition includes:
- The Catholic Scriptures with inclusive language
- Imprimatur
- Anglicized text
- Special lightweight Bible paper
- Introductory materials for every book
- Timeline of Catholic Church and world history
- Concordance to help readers find specific words and
passages
- Sixteen page map section
Over 2 million readers around the world have had their spiritual lives
enriched and
their understanding of God's Word expanded by The MacArthur Study
Bible. Drawing
on more than fifty years of dedicated pastoral and scholarly work, Dr.
John
MacArthur's verse-by-verse study notes, book introductions, and
articles display an
unparalleled commitment to interpretive precision--with the goal of
making God
known through His Word.
The MacArthur Study Bible is available in the New King James Version
(NKJV). Trusted
by millions of believers around the world, the NKJV remains the
bestselling modern
"word-for-word" translation. It balances the literary beauty and
familiarity of the King
James tradition with an extraordinary commitment to preserving the
grammar and
structure of the underlying biblical languages. And while the
translator's relied on the
traditional Greek, Hebrew, and Aramaic text used by the translators of
the 1611 KJV,
the comprehensive translator notes offer important insights about the
latest
developments in biblical manuscript studies. The result is a Bible
translation that is
both beautiful and uncompromising--perfect for serious study,
devotional use, and
reading aloud.
Features include:
- Fully redesigned second edition with updated study notes and
expanded selection of maps and charts

The only complete interlinear Bible available in English-and it's
keyed to Strong's Exhaustive Concordance Thousands of pastors,
students, and laypeople have found The Interlinear Bible to be a
time-saving tool for researching the subtle nuances and layers of
meaning within the original biblical languages. Featuring the
complete Hebrew and Greek texts with a direct English rendering
below each word, it also includes The Literal Translation of the
Bible in the outside column. But what truly sets this resource
apart are the Strong's numbers printed directly above the Hebrew
and Greek words. Strong's numbers enable even those with no prior
knowledge of Greek or Hebrew to easily access a wealth of language
reference works keyed to Strong's-Greek/Hebrew dictionaries,
analytical lexicons, concordances, word studies, and more. The
Hebrew is based on the Masoretic Text and the Greek is from the
Textus Receptus. The sources of the texts are documented in the
preface, and are essentially the same (with some minor variations)
to the Hebrew and Greek texts used by the KJV translators. Only a
small minority of Bible students ever achieve the ability to read
the original biblical languages. This resource offers a
non-threatening tool for those lacking language training to begin
exploring the languages of Scripture. Conveniently includes the
entire Hebrew and Greek text of the Bible in one place Offering a
concise, literal translation of each Greek and Hebrew word, it's a
great jumping off point for in-depth Bible study and text analysis.
This Bible displays all the Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek words of the
Bible in the Masoretic Hebrew Text and the Received Greek Text,
with literal, accurate English meanings placed directly under each
original word in interlinear form, with Strong's Concordance
numbers over each original word, enabling the Bible student
(whether knowing the original languages or not) to refer to all
lexicons and concordances that have also been coded with Strong's
numbers. 2,936 pages, bound in a bonded leather over boards
hardback edition. This new edition has been much improved by a new
typesetting of the New Testament (Volume IV), with larger print,
the left marginal column containing a newly revised Literal
Translation of the Bible (2000), and a right marginal column
containing the Authorized/King James Version (1769). The three
volume Old Testament is an exact reprint of the 1985 Hendrickson
Publishers Edition. The Old Testament does not yet have the 1769
King James Version. The only complete Interlinear Bible is now
fully keyed to Strong's Concordance numbers. The Strong's numbering
above each Hebrew and Greek word - along with the Interlinear text
and marginal literal English Translation and the 1769 Authorized
King James Version - opens a treasure house of Bible study
possibilities for those who wish to understand the Scripture
better. It's use will allow the novice student to read the original
text without losing valuable time to look up the meaning of the
Hebrew & Greek words in the Hebrew & Greek lexicons. There
is no substitute for a first hand knowledge of the original text.
However since only a small minority of Bible students retain an
easy reading comprehension of the original text, the Interlinear
Bible is a welcome aid to Bible students, laymen, and pastors who
wish to continue working with the original languages.
This traditional hardback burgundy NIV Bible has 11pt print, making
it easier to read for those who prefer larger text. The text is
very clearly laid out on the page in two elegant columns, with
minimal show-though. The cover design is the same as the standard
NIV Popular Burgundy Hardback Bible (ISBN 9781444701487) which
matches the stock of burgundy hardback pew Bibles churches will
already have. The pagination is also the same, so everyone can turn
to the same page when a reference is given out in church. It also
features Old and New Testament maps, shortcuts to key stories,
events and people of the Bible, a reading plan and Bible guide,
quick links to find inspiration and help in different life
situations, and British spelling, grammar and punctuation.
Royalties from all sales of the NIV Bible help Biblica, formerly

distributing Bibles around the world.

The Authorised Version of the Bible, commonly known as the King
James Bible, was first published in 1611. The most widely accepted
rendering of the Scriptures for four hundred years, the 1611 Bible
has become a classic of the English language, and countless of its
original phrases have passed into standard idiomatic English. Most
present-day editions incorporate conservative modernisations of
spelling and punctuation introduced over a century and a half by
subsequent editors and printers: the text that is commonly
available is that of the 1769 revision, not that of 1611. There
were two printings undertaken by Robert Barker, the King's printer
in that year, and there are many variations between these two
issues. This edition, produced by the Cambridge scholar William
Aldis Wright in the early twentieth century, accurately and
uniquely represents the original text in a clear and readable form,
together with a list of the variations between the two printings of
1611 - a feature that no conventional facsimile edition can offer.
