A good vocabulary is at the heart of 11 plus and Common Entrance exams, such as those set by Durham University's Centre for Evaluation and Monitoring (CEM), and Granada Learning (GL), also known as NFER. Both the verbal reasoning and comprehension sections of these exams typically contain questions requiring a good understanding of synonyms, antonyms and homophones. The Vocabulary Puzzle Book aims to test a child's knowledge of synonyms, antonyms and homophones in a fun and engaging way with crosswords and word searches. The book contains four sections: Synonyms, Antonyms, Homophones and Mixed Puzzles. Each of these sections is organised into three difficulty levels: Easy, Intermediate and Advanced. There is a handy Word Jotter and definition section on every page, which is there to ensure the child is actively looking up words they do not understand. There is also a proverb at the end of each page to enhance their knowledge of the English language. Extensively classroom tested by Eleven Plus Exams, all 11+ Puzzles are perfect for use both in the classroom and at home.

I've signed for boys called Romeo and girls called Juliet . I've signed for Roman, Saxon, Dane- Though not for Norman yet. From months of the year, colours, flowers, food and gemstones, Julia has seamlessly grouped together a charming selection of children's names and woven them together in her unmistakable rhyming style. Set in a magical transforming bookshop, A Book of Names is a love letter to the world of books and young bookworms - illustrated by the award-winning Nila Aye.
