They are made from combining high-quality pigment with wax as a binding agent. This makes them break resistant and have a good lightfastness. The 3.3mm lead of these round barrelled pencils is very soft since it has been formed by a drying process rather than a traditional burning one. This means it can be used easily on rough surfaces, making them perfect for mixed-media, and additionally it is water-resistant and smudge-proof.
