This title forms part of the Little Library programme, which
consists of a Literacy Kit, Numeracy Kit and Life Skills Kit. These
were developed to respond to a need for high-quality, indigenous
books for the younger members of our communities, and have been
successfully used in schools for the last ten years. This title is
found in the updated, OBE version of the Little Library Maths Kit,
now called the Little Library Numeracy Kit. The Numeracy Kit keeps
seven of the best stories, and introduces five new ones - all of
them trialled in classrooms around the country. In Scary Footsteps,
Lindi's papa warns her not to take the path into the forest because
a scary monster lives their. Lindi and her animal friends find out.
This story deals with size and growth and compounding of numbers.
It also reinforces counting, encourages sequencing and promotes
figure ground perception.

competition to build the best sandcastle, and is constructed mainly
around the concepts of shape and colour. Mathematical concepts:

shapes and three dimensional objects.

tells the story of a family who set off on a journey that involves
travelling on a donkey cart, in a taxi and on a train as they make
their way to Johannesburg to see their Baba. Time and distance are
the main Mathematics links on this story.
New wave spelling – A phonics-based approach is a whole-school spelling workbook series. The spelling lists within each unit are organised with a phonetic emphasis.
Each workbook is supported by a comprehensive teacher resource book containing support material to enhance the teaching and learning opportunities provided in its corresponding workbook.

The Little Library Life Skills Kit (along with the Literacy and
Numeracy Kits) was initially developed to respond to a need for
high quality, indigenous books for the younger members of our
communities. After ten years successful use in schools, the kits
have now been revised to meet the changing needs of learners,
schools and the new education policies. The Life Skills Kit focuses
on promoting life skills to learners of five to nine years of age,
as stated in the National Curriculum Statement. Perfectly me tells
the story of a messy young boy who has a neat and tidy sister. With
some effort he manages to become clean, but is still a little
untidy. He decides that his sister may be perfect, but that he is
perfectly himself.
Each book contains 32 weeks of work, arranged into four units. Seven weeks of each unit begin with a new ‘Skill Focus’, addressing a key language concept. Each day, the first two questions will reinforce and consolidate this language concept. The rest of the daily questions will cover common skills of English.
