Homeopathy is an alternative medical practice that treats a health
condition by administering minute doses of a remedy that would
produce symptoms of that condition in a healthy person. Homeopathy
is the full expression of holistic medicine and as a specific form
of medical treatment it dates back to just over 200 years ago, but
the underlying principles of homeopathy go back to the time of
Hippocrates. This book teaches readers how to promote healing in
themselves and their loved ones, in their own homes. It covers how
to handle remedies, how to select them, and how to use them wisely.

stores of these compounds become depleted, the body becomes
susceptible to disease. "Homeopathic Cell Salt Remedies is a
comprehensive guide to the theory and use of homeopathic cell
salts. Part One first provides a history of Dr. Schuessler's
discovery, and then describes each of the cell salts, explaining
how it works and detailing its use. Part Two offers an A-to-Z

Conceptualised in opposition to 'orthodox' medicine, homoeopathy, a
western medical project originating in eighteenth-century Germany,
was reconstituted as vernacular medicine in British Bengal. India
went on to become the home of the largest population of users of
homoeopathic medicine in the world. Combining insights from the
history of colonial medicine and the cultural histories of family
in British India, Shinjini Das examines the processes through which
western homoeopathy was translated and indigenised in the colony as
a specific Hindu worldview, an economic vision and a disciplining
regimen. In tracing the localisation of German homoeopathy in a
British Indian province, this book analyses interactions between
Calcutta-based homoeopathic family firms, disparate contributors to
the Bengali print market, the British colonial state and emergent
nationalist governments. The history of homoeopathy in Bengal
reveals myriad negotiations undertaken by the colonised peoples to
reshape scientific modernity in the subcontinent.

three parts. The first part describes the methodology and history.
Part two is an A to Z selection of over 200 remedies and their
preparation with the third part detailing common ailments and
conditions.
