Tells the story of the 1692 witchcraft trials in Salem,
Massachusetts. Written in graphic-novel format.
Alchemy is the ancient sacred science concerned with the mysteries
of life and consciousness as reflected through all Nature. It is a
harmonious blending of physical and subtle forces which lifts the
subject, whether it be man or metal, to a more evolved state of
being. The Way of the Crucible is a ground-breaking modern manual
on the art of Alchemy that draws on both modern scientific
technology and ancient methods. A laboratory scientist and chemist,
Bartlett provides an overview of how practical alchemy works along
with treatises on Astrology, Qabalah, Herbalism, and minerals, as
they relate to Alchemy. He also explains what the ancients really
meant when they used the term "Philosopher's Stone" and describes
practical methods toward its achievement. The Way of the Crucible
provides directions for a more advanced understanding of the
mineral work -- what some consider the true domain of Alchemy.
Collectanea Hermetica Volume I: Divine Pymander. This book was a
part of curriculum studied by members of the original Order of the
Golden Dawn. The Divine Pymander is not only one of the most
important texts of the ancient wisdom attributed to Hermes
Trismegistus, it is also the most important document within
Hermetic communities. The volumes of Westcott's Collectanea
Hermetica appeared over there three years from 1893 to 1896 when
the Golden Dawn was at its peak. In every volume the intellectual
integrity of the authors is evident, as is an eagerness to bring
academic respectability to subjects derided by their
contemporaries. This is the first corrected edition since it was
originally published in 1894. The edition was Edited Darcy Kuntz.
General Note to the Collectanea Hermetica Series by Robert A.
Gilbert, Foreword by Chic and Sandra Tabatha Cicero and an
Introduction by Hargrave Jennings. Also included are advertisements
published in books and magazines from the 1890s.
How does a mind think magically? The research documented in this
book is one answer that allows the disciplines of anthropology and
neurobiology to come together to reveal a largely hidden dynamic of
magic. Magic gets to the very heart of some theoretical and
methodological difficulties encountered in the social and natural
sciences, especially to do with issues of rationality. This book
examines magic head-on, not through its instrumental aspects but as
an orientation of consciousness. Magical consciousness is
affective, associative and synchronistic, shaped through individual
experience within a particular environment. This work focuses on an
in-depth case study using the anthropologist's own experience
gained through years of anthropological fieldwork with British
practitioners of magic. As an ethnographic view, it is an intimate
study of the way in which the cognitive architecture of a mind
engages the emotions and imagination in a pattern of meanings
related to childhood experiences, spiritual communications and the
environment. Although the detail of the involvement in magical
consciousness presented here is necessarily specific, the central
tenets of modus operandi is common to magical thought in general,
and can be applied to cross-cultural analyses to increase
understanding of this ubiquitous human phenomenon.

'...eminently practical and certainly breaks new ground.' - Ronald
Hutton (author Pagan Religions of the Ancient British Isles)
Recommended by The Cauldron 'a very meaty read...' PJ in Gippeswic
Preface to the new edition When I went to school, my history
teacher told us about the old Germani. In her opinion, the Taunus
mountains were populated by a bunch of brawny brawlers who wore
horned helmets and small pieces of pelt. They lived in hilltop
settlements which were fortified by ringwalls. Barely able to
manage agriculture, they had to rely on hunting to fill their
stomachs. They lived in shabby huts with mud-plastered walls and
when the Romans came, they fought the invaders with crude swords,
pointy sticks and by hurling rocks at them... Nowadays, the
ringwalls of the Taunus are known as the work of La Tene Celts, who
lived on the heights in well organised cities. For this new edition
much of the text has been rewritten and updated. A large section on
the bronze ages, the Celts, Germani and the later Vikings added.
The theme of Wodan and Helja has been elaborated with more detail
on pagan Scandinavia. The chapter on magical rune inscriptions has
been extended, on Seior/seething trances rewritten, the
bibliography updated and twelve pages of new illustrations added.

Dark Goddess Magick introduces 20 of the most powerful shadow
goddesses and guidance on how to connect with them. Light magick is
all well and good, but sometimes you can't just "love and light"
your way through challenging circumstances. The potent shadow
goddesses you meet here, however, can guide you through the
darkness. Authored by Ara Campbell of the wildly popular Goddess
Circle school and community, each dark goddess entry includes
spells, invocations, and practices to utilize the goddess's magick
and wisdom for embodying strength, setting boundaries, and
transforming your life. Often, it is in the darkest times that we
find our strength and reclaim our power. Someone poaching on your
lover, your home, or your business? Call on Kali, The Warrioress,
to release your fear and stand your ground. Is your world falling
apart or are you processing deep trauma or grief? Call on
Persephone, The Dark Queen, to help guide you through your
emotional underworld and find a new beginning. Trying to shake your
"nice" girl or people-pleaser tendencies? Call on Lilith, The Rebel
Renegade Goddess, to reclaim your freedom. Feeling stuck in some
life situation that won't move forward? Call upon Morrigan, The
Phantom Queen, to shapeshift the circumstances. When life gets hard
and messy, Dark Goddess Magick gives you spells, practices, and
dark goddesses you can call on.
Using occultism to understand the paranormal sounds like diluting
water or burying earth, but in this thoughtful and unusual book
Duncan Barford draws on a deep familiarity with modern magick to
provide a valuable toolbox of concepts for exploring the
relationship between consciousness and the paranormal. Writing in
an accessible and humorous style, Barford examines intriguing
first-hand accounts of poltergeists, telepathy, communication with
the dead, religious phenomena and astral projection. The essence of
his unique exploration is that the paranormal does not happen only
to special people and on rare occasions. In fact, to experience the
paranormal we need simply turn our attention to the nature of our
consciousness itself.
The "Sepher Yetzirah," although this name means "The Book of
Formation," is not in any sense a narrative of Creation, or a
substitute Genesis, but is an ancient and instructive philosophical
treatise upon one aspect of the origin of the universe and mankind;
an aspect at once archaic and essentially Hebrew. The grouping of
the processes of origin into an arrangement, at once alphabetic and
numeral, is one only to be found in Semitic authors.Attention must
be called to the essential peculiarity of the Hebrew language, the
inextricable and necessary association of numbers and letters;
every letter suggesting a number, and every group of letters having
a numerical signification, as vital as its literal meaning. The
Kabalistic principles involved in the reversal of Hebrew letters,
and their substitution by others, on definite schemes, should also
be studied and borne in mind.It is exactly on these principles that
the "ground-work idea" 'of this disquisition rests; and these
principles may be traced throughout the Kabalistic tractates which
have succeeded it in point of time and development, many of which
are associated together in one volume known as the "Zohar," which
is in the main concerned with the essential dignities of the
Godhead, with the Emanations which have sprung therefrom, with the
doctrine of the Sephiroth, the ideals of Macroprosopus and
Microprosopus, and the doctrine of Re-incarnation.The "Sepher
Yetzirah," on the other hand, is mainly concerned with our universe
and with the Microcosm. The opinions of Hebrew Kabalistic Rabbis
and of modern mystics may be fitly introduced here. The following
interesting quotation is from Rabbi Moses Botarel, who wrote his
famous Commentary in 1409: --"It was Abraham our Father--blessed be
he--who wrote this book to condemn the doctrine of the sages of his
time, who were incredulous of the supreme dogma of the Unity. At
least, this was the opinion of Rabbi Saadiah--blessed be he--as
written in the first chapter of his book The Philosopher's Stone.
These are his words: The sages of Babylon attacked Abraham on
account of his faith; for they were all against him although
themselves separable into three sects.
El Obatala is an initiate of both yoruba and the Western Mystery
Tradition, and among his many insights, he examines how Yoruba and
the Qabala share similar undercurrents. The book aims to be a
practical instruction manual on psychic-preparation, casting a
circle, creating an altar, choosing, blessing and consecrating
ritual objects, crystal empowerment, and methods of divination
using cowrie bells, playing cards, or a pendulum. This should be of
interest to those who wish to create their own eclectic magical
rituals, with down to earth spiritual insight that works for our
modern world, from a variety of spiritual and philosophical
disciplines.
Collectanea Hermetica Volume I: Hermetic Arcanum. This book was

working are explained in an authentic and orderly manner. The
volumes of Westcott's Collectanea Hermetica appeared over three
years from 1893 to 1896 when the Golden Dawn was at its peak. In
every volume the intellectual integrity of the authors is evident,
as is an eagerness to bring academic respectability to subjects
