"All hail to thee, Queen of heaven! Seven is the Moon's mystic number, because each one of its four phases is completed in seven days. Nineteen is a sacred number in Old Irish and Celtic lore, for the sequence of Moon phases within a single zodiac sign is repeated every 19 years. As both the largest and the brightest object in the night sky, and the only one to appear in phases, the Moon has been a rich source of myth for as long as there have been myth-makers. Elizabeth Pepper's "Moon Lore" is a compendium of lunar tales, charms, chants, and curses from ancient time to the present.

The etiology of the Wimbum people in the Western Grassfields of Cameroon is described through an examination of the way in which the meanings of key concepts, used to interpret and explain illness and other forms of misfortune, are continually being produced and reproduced in the praxis of everyday communication. During the course of numerous dialogues, witchcraft, a highly ambivalent force, gradually emerges as the prime mover. As destructive cannibals or respectable elders the witches are the ultimate cause of all significant illness, misfortune and death, and as diviners they are also the ultimate judges who apportion moral responsibility. Even the ancestors and the traditional gods turn out to be fronts behind which the witches hide their activities. The study is on three levels: a medical anthropological exploration of explanations of illness and misfortune; a detailed ethnography of traditional African cosmology and witchcraft; and an examination of recent theoretical issues in anthropology such as the nature of ethnographic fieldwork and the possibility of dialogical or postmodern ethnography.

A new edition of Regardie's classic text In the mid-1930s, Israel Regardie had an insight into understanding alchemical writings. The result was The Philosopher's Stone, where he analyzed three 17th-century alchemical works symbolically, psychologically, and via magickal energy. Now, famed occultists Chic and Tabatha Cicero bring this book into the 21st century. The original is completely reproduced here. The Hebrew transliterations have been updated with modern styles and the text is fully annotated and explained. Added are these new features: - New introduction - New illustrations - Biographical dictionary - Glossary - Resource list - Bibliography - Index Plus, five new original articles - "The Spiritual Alchemy of the Golden Dawn" by Chic Cicero- "Intro to Alchemy: A Golden Dawn Perspective" by Mark Stavish- "Basic Alchemy for the Golden Dawn" and "Golden Dawn Ritual Method and Alchemy" by Samuel Scarborough- "The Elixir of the Sun" by Steven Marshall- "Solve Et Coagula: The Wedding of Sol and Luna" by the Ciceros
Papus (Dr. Gerard Encausse 1865-1916) was one of the great occultists of France, and was instrumental in developing and popularizing Eliphas Levi's earlier suggestions of a link between the Hebrew alphabet and the twenty-two trumps of the tarot. The Qabalah, first published in 1892, is particularly valuable because, along with his original theoretical explorations of the Qabalah, it also contains his complete translation of the Sepher Yetzirah, Eliphas Levi's famous Ten Lessons on the Qabalah, Rabbi Drach's important and rare treatise, The Qabalah of the Hebrews, and an extensive Qabalistic bibliography. This book gives a concise and valuable introduction to the sacred science of the Hebrews, and thus to the esoteric teachings of Christianity.
In this comprehensive introduction to Enochian magic and beyond, John DeSalvo explains how the magic system transmitted by the angels to John Dee and Edward Kelley in the 16th century has until now remained incomplete and thus not as powerful as the angels intended. Drawing on his in-depth study of John Dee's diaries, DeSalvo explains how Dee and Kelley were given the Enochian tables and calls but their communications with the angels were severed before they received the full practical instructions for Enochian magic. To this day, most magical groups improvise and make up rituals based on their own ideas and imagination--the magic they practice is not true angelic magic. After many successful Enochian magic rituals and years of his own spiritual work, DeSalvo has discovered additional key pieces to the magical system of Dee and Kelley, a system now known as Power Magic. He provides step-by-step instructions for more complete and accurate Enochian magic rituals and reveals how the angelic realm is only the first and farthest away of the spiritual realms surrounding God. He explains how to penetrate this angelic realm with Power Magic to reach higher spiritual worlds and receive more powerful knowledge and energy. He shows that by connecting with the higher worlds beyond the angels, we can tap more fully in to the magical power of the Divine and begin restoring the planetary magic of our most ancient ancestors.
