Alchemy is a rich and complex esoteric tradition that has
flourished world-wide since the beginning of recorded history, if
not earlier. There are three main traditions: Western Christian,
Indo-tibetan and Chinese Taoist. Within this diversity there are
many common features, which are analysed, organized, and brought
together in this comprehensive dictionary of terms, symbols, and
personalities. This dictionary is the distillation of many years'
research into the extensive arcane literature. It is a reference
work to guide the readers throught the labyrinth of pre-Newtonian
science and philosophy. The dictionary covers not only the
materialist dimension of the search for the elixir of life and the
transmutation of metals, but also the inner search for the gold of
mystical illumination. Jung called alchemy 'the projection of a
drama both cosmic and spiritual in laboratorty terms'. This opus
alchymicum goes beyond the bare analysis and interpretation of
terms to present a harmonic, integrated vision of man and nature,
which may help to heal the fragmented world view of modern science.

Natural Magick, cottage witch Tenae Stewart shares her knowledge of
natural magick to celebrate and channel the energy of life's
seasons. This magickal guide offers sixty recipes and rituals for
connecting with nature and explores how devoting time and energy to
these practices can benefit your daily life. Elements of natural
magick practices explored in The Modern Witch's Guide to Natural
Magick include: The basics of blending teas and oils for relaxation
and celebration The metaphysical and magickal properties of common
plants Natural recipes and rituals to celebrate and channel the
energy of each season Incorporating these natural practices into
your lifestyle through a morning cup of tea or evening anointing

The point, line, plane and solid objects represent the first three
dimensions, but a kind of reversal of space is involved in the
ascent to a fourth dimension. Steiner leads us to the brink of this
new perspective-as nearly as it can be done with words, diagrams,
analogies, and examples of many kinds. In doing so, he continues
his lifelong project of demonstrating that our objective, everyday
thinking is the lowest rung of a ladder that reaches up to
literally infinite heights. The talks in this series and the
selections from the question-and-answer sessions on many
mathematical topics over the years are translated into English for
the first time in THE FOURTH DIMENSION. They bring us to
tantalizing new horizons of awareness where Steiner hoped to lead
his listeners: Topics include: * The relationship between geometric
studies and developing direct perception of spiritual realities *
How to construct a fourth-dimensional hypercube * The six
dimensions of the self-aware human being * Problems with the theory
of relativity * The Trinity and angelic hierarchies and their
relationship to physical space * The dimensional aspect of the
spiritual being encountered by Moses on Mt. Sinai
In this groundbreaking new book, Serena Roney-Dougal relates the
world of Faery to magic, terrestrial magnetism, megaliths,
apparitions and UFO reports. Written in a way that combines her
scientific background with spirituality, this will appeal to people
of all types.
The era of the Roman Empire was distinguished by an explosion of
images and texts in a variety of media-metal, papyrus, mosaic,
gemstone-all designed to protect, heal, or grant some abstract
benefit to the persons who wore them on their bodies or placed them
in their homes. In the past scholars have explained this
proliferation of readily identifiable amulets by a sudden need for
magic or by a precipitous rise in superstition or anxiety in this
period, connected, perhaps, with the internal breakdown of Greek
rationalism or the migration of superstitious peoples from the
East. Christopher A. Faraone argues, instead, that these amulets
were not invented in this period as a result of an alteration in
the Roman worldview or a tidal wave of "oriental" influence, but
rather that they only become visible to us in the archaeological
record as a result of a number of technical innovations and
transformations: the increased epigraphic habit of the Imperial
period, the miniaturization of traditional domestic amulets, like
the triple-faced Hecate, on durable gems, or the utilization of
newly crafted Egyptianizing iconography. In short, it is only when
explicitly protective or curative texts, or strange new images, are
added to traditional Greek amulets, that modern observers realize
that these objects were thought to have the power to protect or
heal all along. The real question addressed by the book, then, is
not why we can identify so many amulets in the Roman Imperial
period but, rather, why we have failed to identify them in
artifacts of the preceding centuries. Featuring more than 120
illustrations, The Transformation of Greek Amulets in Roman
Imperial Times is not only a tremendous resource for those working
in the fields of ancient magic and religion but also an essential
reference for those interested in the religion, culture, and
history of the ancient Mediterranean.

How to find deeper meaning in magical workings with Earth, Air,
Fire, Water and Spirit and connect with the Old Ways. Many
contemporary pagan books rarely go further than describing the use
of the elemental energies as markers in casting the Circle. In The
Power of the Elements we consider drawing on the energy from the
deepest levels of the ocean, the highest peaks of the mountains,
the limits of outer space and the path of the hurricane. And why it
is so important to return to the Classic Elements of the Greeks if
we really want our magic to work.
