With their eighth studio album, 'Simple Things', The Band of Heathens came home-geographically, as they returned to their longtime base of Austin for the recording; sonically, in an embrace of the rootsy, guitar-based rock with which they made their name; and thematically, with lyrics that speak to appreciating friends and family and our limited time on this planet.

It's a confident, assured statement of a group finding its place in the world amid uncertain and troubled times. "It was a return to embracing our influences, our natural instincts, the way we sound when we get on stage," says guitarist-vocalist Gordy Quist. With the subject matter, there's a sentiment of focusing on what's important as we go through this journey together-don't waste time, because this is all we've got. "Gordy and I each have a natural sound when we sing, but there's something even more special and unique when our voices blend together" says guitarist-vocalist Ed Jurdi. "So it was just about harnessing and embracing that. Good, mid-tempo rock and roll-that's our breadbasket, and there's not a lot of that music being made right now.

Melody Gardot and acclaimed pianist Philippe Powell have recorded an intimate album of brooding jazz torch songs. Recorded in Paris in Dec 2021, this intimate new album showcases Melody and Philippe’s love of traditional jazz, taking the listener back to its golden age.

The past half decade has seen Unknown T establish himself as among the most creative and authentic voices in British Rap. A string of seminal singles and mixtapes have pushed, and then shattered, the musical boundaries of UK Drill, his distinct voice offering stark yet poetic accounts of life in the overlooked corners of London.

Now, he is ready to release his debut album Blood Diamond. 13-tracks long, Blood Diamond is a vivid journey into his mind, spirt and history, illuminating on the trials, traumas and triumphs he has met along the way.

“It’s not easy to come through what I’ve been through, and making something out of it,” he says, “It’s a good feeling coming out of that environment and seeing what I’ve made possible.

Iconic singer/songwriter Suzanne Vega continues her journey back into her illustrious songbook with the second volume of her superb four-part thematic acoustic album series SUZANNE VEGA CLOSE-UP, VOL. 2 PEOPLE & PLACES With her native New York City serving as a constant inspiration throughout her work, Vega acoustically reimagines twelve gems on this new volume, from the career-defining "Luka," one of the most instantly recognizable pop songs of the past 20 years, "Tom's Diner" to the quietly stirring emotions of the classic "Queen and the Soldier," as well as a new song written with Mark Linkous and Dangermouse, "The Man Who Played God." Vega is joined in the studio by her longtime musical companions Gerry Leonard on guitar and Michael Visceglia on bass, as well as the acclaimed Brooklyn-based string quartet Brooklyn Rider.

Mariss Jansons conducts the Berliner Philharmoniker in this concert featuring selections by Haydn, Berlioz and Mozart recorded live at the Hagia Eirene church, Istanbul, in 2001.
