The creature had numerous tiny white albino eyes positioned all over its oval casing. Its hard exoskeleton showed a multitude of small sharp jaggy peaks used for protection. It seemed to be calculating their threat, studying them in fine detail. Moving a little on the man, it stopped. Then its surface began changing colour from white into bright pink. It had stuck itself solidly onto the man's back. Cesare shivered a little, moaning involuntarily and said nothing. Everyone looked desperately at each other then the man lay quiet and very still. All in a state of shock, watching as his body gradually became fossilised.
