Seeing Other People is curiously positioned as Foxygen's most recent last-ever album. With every album the band dies; with every album the band is reborn. But unlike the last-ever Foxygen albums before it, this one seems to have a self-effacing bittersweetness to it that signifies some sort of passing; some sort of white flag. But it SOUNDS in no way like a band giving up. It has experiments in tone and genre the likes of which we've not heard on a Foxygen record since... Starpower?; since 21st Century?; since Take the Kids? You don't need our hot take on this thing.

2022 release. L.S. Dunes was formed in 2020 by members of My Chemical Romance, Coheed and Cambria, Thursday, and Circa Survive. Past Lives is a boundary-pushing, futuristic synthesis of post-hardcore, art-rock and punk that quickly establishes L.S. Dunes as a commanding new arrival. The set was produced by Will Yip (Turnstile, Circa Survive, Quicksand).

Newly released from captivity, the acclaimed 1983 avant-punk masterpiece album featuring the dark and humorous genius of Narki Brillans, C. D. Greyt, and Yakko Banovic, with special guest Sara Fancy. The lone Just Measurers LP, originally an edition of 300 copies on the It's War Boys label, has rarely been seen in the wild during the past 3 and a half decades, (although was recently spotted on Discogs for $450!). The band consists of members from other essential under-the-radar 80s UK DIY luminaries, such as Milk From Cheltenham, The Homosexuals, The Murphy Federation, Die Trip Computer Die, L. Voag, Amos and Sara, The Work. Playful and unsettling, the 16 tracks contained within are as vibrant and challenging as the day they were conceived. Who knows where The Just Measurers may have dragged us to had they followed up with further records We never got to find out, as they had the good grace to split at the top of their game, leaving this essential document of their collective and vibrant minds. On his major label debut album, Kurt Vile pulls his talents as a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer in unexpected directions - and the result is a vibrant, yet meditative record propelled by laid-back charm and curious spirit.

Ravenously creative songwriter Kurt Vile broke through to mainstream success after years of steadily working on his craft. His laidback and drifting guitar rock took notes from masters like Neil Young, Sonic Youth, and Dinosaur Jr., exploring inventive guitar tones on meditative and often self-reflective songs. He co-founded the War on Drugs with friend Adam Granduciel in 2005, but quit shortly after the band got off the ground to focus more on his own music. After several albums on various indie labels, Vile signed with Matador in 2009 and would find increasing success with each new album. His 2013 album, Walkin' on a Pretty Daze, broke through bigger than anything before it, taking Vile's blurry-eyed musings and signature songwriting style to a worldwide audience. He would continue frequent collaborations, working with a multitude of special guests on his own records as well as co-creating albums with Steve Gunn and Courtney Barnett.
