"Historical documentation and pictures intertwine with John's war
experience and nightmares. How it affected John, his parents, wife
and children. US info on Blood Drives, recycling, rations, the
draft and production of war materials. Cecilienhof Palace and
Reichstag historically detailed."
The settings of this book are many and varied. One setting is the
Philippine city of Manila; the next setting is the container ship
which transports the villains. The third setting is the Panama
Canal; the fourth setting is the Republic of Panama itself. Nick
Savage is the protagonist secretly employed as a sleeper agent,
working for the CIA to keep watch over the Panama Canal. He is to
report anything suspicious and discovers an Al-Queda plot to
destabilize the free world, using the Panama Canal as a pawn. The
antagonists in this book are a group of Philippine Nationals of a
designated "Moro" faction of an Al-Queda branch. This book is
likely to appeal to readers because therein is a plot that leads
the reader through true descriptions of many of the Panama Canal
Locks operations and hardware. The target audience could be anyone
who enjoys an action adventure with a different plot With a lot of
insight into the operation and maintenance of the Canal itself. I
worked at the Panama Canal Locks so that the reader will benefit
from an insider's look at the operation of the Panama Canal. I also
know the weaknesses that are inherent in the operation. I lead the
reader through many of my own personal experiences on board ships,
and an abundant knowledge of ship handling from many aspects.
Lincolnshire, 1537. Amid England's religious turmoil,
fifteen-year-old Anne Askew is forced to take her dead sister's
place in an arranged marriage. The witty, well-educated gentleman's
daughter is determined to free herself from her abusive husband,
harsh in-laws, and the cruel strictures of her married life. But
this is the England of Henry VIII, where religion and politics are
dangerously entangled. A young woman of Anne's fierce independence,
Reformist faith, uncanny command of plainspoken scripture, and-not
least-connections to Queen Katheryn Parr's court cannot long escape
official notice, or censure. In a deft blend of history and
imagination, award-winning novelist Rilla Askew brings to life a
young woman who defied the conventions of her time, ultimately
braving torture and the fire of martyrdom for her convictions. A
rich evocation of Reformation England, from the fenlands of
Lincolnshire to the teeming religious underground of London to the
court of Henry VIII, this gripping tale of defiance is as pertinent
today as it was in the sixteenth century. While skillfully
portraying a significant historical figure-one of the first female
writers known to have composed in the English language-Prize for
the Fire renders the inner life of Anne Askew with a depth and
immediacy that transcend time.

"I'm ridiculously attracted to you, Hottie. I figured I should be up
front about that."
"Shut up and kiss me again, Snipes."
Hailey Taylor Emery has a hunch that Sniper87, her favorite client at
Fetch—the anonymous virtual assistant service she runs with her
ex-husband—is actually gorgeous hockey superstar Matt Eriksson. It's
against the rules to check his file, but she's pretty sure she spends
every day texting her lifelong crush and catering to his every need.
Still processing her recent divorce, Hailey is perfectly content for
this to be nothing but harmless online flirting…until Sniper87 wants to
meet her. Face to face. Cue: utter panic.
Matt Eriksson is no stranger to heartbreak. He's still not over the
destruction of his own marriage, and it sucks to be the only guy on his
team who knows the truth: that hockey and long-term relationships are a
toxic mix. He barely sees his kids, and dealing with his ex makes him
feel worthless. The only person in his life who seems to understand is
someone who won't show her pretty face: the mysterious HTE, aka
"Hottie."
Surely, though, it's nothing a pair of fourth row hockey seats can't
fix. Superfan Hailey can't resist the offer, and Matt can't resist
Hailey. But when the phone screens come down, can they get past their
baggage long enough to build something real?
This is the story of two men born six hundred years apart who
experience a deep-rooted connection that they use to solve a
six-hundred year old mystery.
