In the spring of 2006, a new kind of show premiered on Bravo: The
Real Housewives of Orange County. Its stars were tanned, taut, and
bedazzled; their homes were echoey California villas; and their
drama was gossip-fueled, wine-drenched, and absolutely exquisite.
Fifteen seasons on, RHOC is an institution, along with The Real
Housewives of New York, Atlanta, New Jersey, Miami, Potomac, and
more. Over the years these ladies have done a lot more than lunch,
launching thirty-one books, a cocktail line, two jail sentences, a
couple supermodel daughters, Andy Cohen’s talk show career,
thirty-six divorces, fourteen albums, a White House party crash,
and approximately one million memes. Brian Moylan has been there
through it all, in front of the screen and behind the scenes. The
writer of Vulture’s beloved series recaps, he’s here to tell us
the full story, from the inside scoop on every classic throwdown to
the questions we’ve always wanted to know, like—what are the
housewives really like off-camera? (The same.) How much money do
they make? (Lots.) He has a lot to say about the legacy and fandom
of a franchise that’s near and dear to his heart, and
inextricable from pop culture today.

Translation, with full explanatory notes, of the two works of
Teresa de Cartagena, the fifteenth-century Spanish nun. This
affordable, engaging and important translation of Teresa de
Cartagena's works significantly expands and enriches the current
canon of medieval women writers. ANNE CLARK BARTLETT, DePAUL
UNIVERSITY Teresa de Cartagena was born in Burgos in about 1415-20,
into a powerful family of Jewish origin. All we know of Teresa
comes from her work: she was deaf and not physically strong, she
was a nun, and - perhaps the source of her resilience -she was
well-educated, above all in religion and moral philosophy. Deaf
from early womanhood, her consolatory treatise Grove of the Infirm
is a reflection on the spiritual benefits of illness; her second
work, Wonder at the Works of God, was apparently written to counter
the contention of her critics that a handicapped woman had nothing
of value to say. This artful manipulation of the familiar
devotional genre of "the treatise of consolation" reveals a woman
writer intimately familiar with the cultural practices of her era;
overall, both works allow a rare glimpse into the world of women in
fifteenth-century Spain. DAYLE SEIDENSPINNER-NUNEZ is Professor in
the Department of Romance Languages and Literature at the
University of Notre Dame.
The Twilight of the Gods Tarot explores the mythology of the Greeks, Vikings, Egyptians, and Slavs with some other world mythology. This guidebook is a larger version of the LWB included with the card set originally available only on Kickstarter.
The cards are now available on Etsy.
Almost 2700 years ago, the prophet Ezekiel detailed a massive
end-times attack against Israel. The coalition he describes is
still making headlines today. Bible scholar Ron Rhodes analyzes
current events in the light of biblical prophecy and empowers
readers to "interpret the signs of the times" (Matthew 16:3).

What does success look like? 5AM conference calls and late nights
in the office? Winning every argument in the office and always
getting your own way? What does a successful woman look like? The
shoulder-pad wearing Alpha? The dogmatist who rules with an iron
fist? The reality is far more nuanced. Yet women are still reduced
to Alpha boss, or the Beta secretary or assistant but when 47% of
the workforce are reduced to two unhelpful stereotypes, how can you
embrace your inner Beta and be a success on your own terms? It's an
important question because the world is changing, fast. Successful
companies need people who can lead with emotional intelligence, be
flexible to new ideas and adapt their plans when required, leaving
their ego at the door. The Beta woman's time is now. Beta
celebrates the collaborators, the pragmatists, and the people who
believe that being nice works and getting your own way isn't always
the most important thing. It explores the unsung workforce of Beta
women who are being great bosses, great leaders and are still
living their own lives: having relationships, making time for
friends, having families. Fully researched and rich with
interviews, anecdotes and case studies, Beta will be a smart and
entertaining read that really explores the role of women in the
workplace today.
Do you need to be popular to make money from social media? No!
There are, however, a few important lessons verified influencers (those
with the blue ticks and paying clients) have learnt through trial and
error. As traditional media keeps losing eyeballs and revenue to
digital and indeed social media, this content revolution
presents unprecedented opportunities for those who know how to
make the most of their interests and smartphones. In 2019, Elma Smit
was hand-picked by two global governing bodies as the face of their
World Cup content campaigns, in the space of only six months. Yet, she
generated more revenue from influencer work in that same period than
from anything else.
In Become an Influencer, one of South Africa’s leading content creators
and influencers spills the beans on how to build a loyal audience, how
to charge for paid campaigns and how to avoid running into a social
media meltdown. Maps Maponyane, Rachel Kolisi, Nadia Jaftha and Liesl
Laurie and a whole host of other leading influencers also reveal their
influencer secrets, tips and hard-won lessons to Elma, while leading
strategists who select influencers for global and local campaigns share
what they look for in an influencer.
Some subjects are too interesting to be left at school! Carry on
your love of history at home with Medieval Life - an
activity-packed exploration of life in the Middle Ages. Divided
into sections, the book starts with fast facts on topics including
castles and knights, running a manor, feudalism, monastic life, and
the church; and the book ends with charts of famous medieval people
and rulers. Using this information, you can complete the puzzles in
the main part of the book, plus there are hands-on activities such
as designing your own shield using heraldry, making a "stained
glass" window, and playing the medieval game of Fox and Geese.
Finally, test your new-found knowledge with the quick quizzes (with
answers supplied, but no peeking!). You can keep track of your
achievements throughout with a star-chart to fill in every time you
finish a page. Note to parents: The Eyewitness Project Book series
is devised and written with the expert advice of educational and
reading consultants and is designed to appeal to children aged 8
years and up. First published in 2007-2009, this series has been
fully revised and updated for 2020.
