Numicon builds a deep understanding of maths through a multi-sensory approach, developing children's fluency, reasoning and problem-solving. The Numicon 0-31 Number Line shows the numerals 0-31 spaced so that children can place a counter on each numeral in independent counting activities, helping them to generalize that the last number in their count tells them 'how many'.
Numicon 10-shapes (real size) displayed end-to-end with marked multiples of 10 from 0 to 100. The number line can be used with Numicon Shapes in counting arithmetic.
The ten decade sections can be arranged horizontally as a Number Line or as an array to help pupils to see the connection between patterns on the 1-100 line and 1-100 number square.
A beautifully illustrated number line from 1-10 with numerals, Numicon Shapes and pictures. Perfect to use as a counting book.
iGumbo - Stemberry School's lovable robot dog - has gone missing... Can you help to solve the case? You will need to put your skills in science, technology, engineering and maths to the test, but don't worry, the great STEM Detectives are on hand to help! If you crack the case, you could even become part of the STEM Detectives yourself. Get over to the evidence board and start investigating!
Numicon builds a deep understanding of maths through a multi-sensory approach, developing children's fluency, reasoning and problem-solving. This display frieze can be put up in the classroom. It shows 100 blocks of 100 squares, each made up of 100 dots, helping children recognize 1 000 000 as a cube number. The sections can be arranged end-to-end horizontally or as an array - such as in a square of 10 x 10 blocks - helping children to also recognize 1 000 000 as a square number. It provides a visual reference point for the scale of large numbers as well as supporting discussions about the application of square and cube numbers to area and volume.
Kumon STEM Missions Workbooks offer students a fun way to practice interdisciplinary topics by combining science, technology, engineering, and math questions in order to strengthen problem-solving skills. In this workbook, your child will complete several STEM missions designed to increase his or her critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Each mission asks your child to read science passages, answer questions about the passages, solve math problems, and use the knowledge gained to create or design a solution (engineering) to a real word problem. Featuring Life Science, Earth Science, and Physical Science topics, these workbooks are sure to get your child interested in the connection between what he or she learns and how it can be applied to the real world.
Engage your child in fun hands-on projects that develop problem-solving and critical thinking skills. The STEM challenges and activities encourage your child to think creatively and explore different ideas to solve problems. Parents act as facilitators, guiding their children through the problem-solving process. Each unit includes stories and practice pages that help children understand science concepts and provide a foundation for completing each STEM challenge. A STEM journal activity helps guide children through the engineering design process: plan, create, test, and record. Topics within each STEM challenge target earth, life, and physical science. Each unit covers a specific scientific concept and includes: Science Story: Introduces each science concept Practice Activities: Support children's understanding STEM Story: Fictional story with a problem to solve STEM Challenge: Hands-on activity to solve a problem STEM Journal: Provides a planning outline to help complete the challenge activity Includes answer key. First grade STEM skills include: Connect words and pictures Fine motor skills Letter formation Visual discrimination Word meaning Sequencing Inference Comprehension First grade activities incorporate scientific concepts such as: Physical science Solids, Liquids, Gas Parts Work Together Making Sound Life science Living Things Have Parts What Do Animals Eat? Animals and Their Babies Earth science The Moon Bodies of Water Recording Weather Use Smart Start: STEM for enrichment at home and help your child develop lifelong critical thinking skills.
Numicon builds a deep understanding of maths through a multi-sensory approach, developing children's fluency, reasoning and problem-solving. This laminated number line, scaled to take Numicon Shapes, shows Numicon 10-shapes laid horizontally end-to-end with points marked, but not labelled. The points can be labelled with multiples, fractions, decimals, percentages or negative numbers, using a whiteboard pen, to support children with exploring number relationships and calculating.
Numicon builds a deep understanding of maths through a multi-sensory approach, developing children's fluency, reasoning and problem-solving. This laminated number line starts at zero and has fifty unlabelled points. The points can be labelled with any denomination of fraction children are working with. This provides a valuable tool for exploring equivalences and comparing fractions with different denominators.
Numicon builds a deep understanding of maths through a multi-sensory approach, developing children's fluency, reasoning and problem-solving. The points on this number line represent thousandths, hundredths and tenths. Zero and one are labelled while the other points are left blank to encourage children to think about what each point shows. Children could record decimals in tenths, hundredths or thousandths on this number line.
Numicon builds a deep understanding of maths through a multi-sensory approach, developing children's fluency, reasoning and problem-solving. This number line shows negative and positive numerals. It provides a visual reference for counting and calculating with negative numbers and can be displayed on the wall or given to children for use on their tables.
Numicon builds a deep understanding of maths through a multi-sensory approach, developing children's fluency, reasoning and problem-solving. The Numicon 0-41 Number Rod Number Line provides a visual reference connecting number rods, numerals and number words with the number line. Best placed at children's eye-line, so that they can interact with the resource as they work in the classroom.
Numicon builds a deep understanding of maths through a multi-sensory approach, developing children's fluency, reasoning and problem-solving. This resource can be used in the school corridor as a way of getting children to think about and interact with maths outside of the classroom and to let children get a sense of how big 1000 is. The points on the Numicon 0-10001 Number Line are 1 cm apart.
Decade sections shown in red and blue with numerals 0-100 marked beneath in centimetre intervals. Set of 3. This line could also be used with Number Rods which are centimeter scale.
