Unlock doors to the lost worlds of the Bible -- from the Garden of Eden to the ruins of BabylonDid a volcano part the Red Sea? Have scientists found Eve? Was the pharaoh of the Oppression a woman? Did the Jordan River really cease flowing the day Jericho fell? A brilliant author, scientist, and adventurer who has been called "the real Indiana Jones," Dr. Charles Pellegrino takes us on a remarkable journey from the Nile to the Tigris-Euphrates rivers -- crossing time, legend, and ancient lands to explore the unsolved mysteries of the Old Testament. Return to Sodom and Gomorrah is an epic saga of discovery that interweaves science, history, and suspense --the first book ever to bring archaeologists, scientists and theologians together to examine the same evidence. In this enthralling revelatory adventure, Pellegrino introduces us to dedicated pioneers like Benjamin Mazar, Leonard Woolley, and T. E. Lawrence, who retraced the steps of Moses to demystify the Exodus and the Flood. In the process, he enables us to view ancient relics in an extraordinary new light -- as both fascinating windows on the past and vivid signposts to the future.
Isabel has walked in a faith Covenant relationship with the LORD,
for approximately thirty years. In 1979 God called her to give up
her work in the secular world, sell all that she owned and go to
the Philippines. She was led into the mountain regions of Kalinga
Apayao, to preach the gospel to the headhunting tribal people. The
LORD worked with her confirming the preaching of His Word, with
miraculous signs and wonders. This is recorded in her latest book,
"THE MESSAGE TO THE CHURCH". She is also the author of Arise and
Reap, Reaping with Joy and Come out of her, my People. In January
2000, Isabel returned to the Philippines on her fifth ministry
mission. She was told by the Lord, to build and oversee a work
which was to be named "Covenant Keepers", as the Lord desired to
raise up a body of people who would walk in a faith Covenant
relationship with Him. All was accomplished by the Lord's leading
and provision. The Lord taught us that He is the Covenant keeping
God, who has redeemed His saints from the curse of the law (Gal.
13:3).The curse of the law is sickness, pain, disease, suffering,
poverty and the second death, which is eternal damnation in the
lake of fire and brimstone (Duet. 28:15-61 & Rev. 21:8). In the
Everlasting Covenant agreement which is sealed with the holy
redeeming blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, God has freely provided
forgiveness of sin, eternal life, imputed righteousness, divine
provision, divine protection, and divine health for His redeemed
saints. To walk in all the blessings of the Everlasting Covenant,
we must first understand what blessings were freely provided in the
Atonement in the Lord Jesus Christ, and take the blessings by
faith. As you apply the teaching in this manual, you will learn to
be a Covenant keeper, who will walk in all the blessings of the
Everlasting Covenant.

Much of the Bible is a history of God's dealings with his people
Israel. The events it records took place in a specific geographical
environment that involved many people and places. So to more
clearly understand the Bible, it's helpful to visualize how Israel
interacted with her neighbors and was affected by geography.

Step Up to God's Calling! How does God want to use you? Not your
parents. Not your pastor. Not your friend with all the social media
followers. You! The Old Testament leader Joshua is a great example
for us to follow as we step up to God's call on our lives. Before
Joshua, Moses was the one who spoke to God, performed miracles, and
stood up to Pharaoh. But then Joshua had to come out to the front.
So what did he do? How did he step up? And what steps can you take
to seize the moment for yourself? This 90-day devotional will
inspire you to push aside fear and complacency in order to become
something more, leading change in your relationships, work,
community, and the world. Now is your time.
What did Jesus think of himself? How did he face death? What were
his expectations of the future? In this volume, now in paperback,
internationally renowned Jesus scholar Dale Allison Jr. addresses
such perennially fascinating questions about Jesus. The acclaimed
hardcover edition received the Biblical Archaeology Society's "Best
Book Relating to the New Testament" award in 2011.
Representing the fruit of several decades of research, this major
work questions standard approaches to Jesus studies and rethinks
our knowledge of the historical Jesus in light of recent progress
in the scientific study of memory. Allison's groundbreaking
alternative strategy calls for applying what we know about the
function of human memory to our reading of the Gospels in order to
"construct Jesus" more soundly.
The theme of heaven and earth is a much-overlooked aspect of the
Gospel of Matthew. In this work, rising scholar Jonathan Pennington
articulates a fresh perspective on this key interpretive issue,
challenging both the scholarly and popular understandings of the
meaning of Matthew's phrase, "kingdom of heaven."
Pennington argues that rather than being a reverent way of
referring to God as is typically assumed, "heaven" in Matthew is
part of a highly developed discourse of heaven and earth language.
Matthew's way of using heaven language serves one overriding
theological purpose: to highlight the tension that currently exists
between heaven and earth or God and humanity, while looking forward
to its eschatological resolution. This affordable North American
paperback edition was previously published in hardcover by Brill.
Pastoring is tough. The challenges are many, expectations are high,
and tasks are wide ranging.
Pastoral Practices is a guide to help pastors draw on the
insights of Wesleyan theology and incorporate them into their
ministries. Whatever the task may be--preaching, discipling,
evangelizing, or administrating--this book will shed light on the
way Wesleyan theology refines, informs, and enhances the theories
and methods of each pastoral practice.
Not only will pastors and their associates find this book a
worthwhile asset, but lay leaders, small-group facilitators, and
others doing ministry in the church will also benefit from its
invaluable insight and well-reasoned advice.
