Preceding the time this essay was written in 1933-34, Kabbalah was
considered taboo. But Rav Ashlag, the founder of The Kabbalah
Centre, was a visionary pioneer. He stood in the face of opposition
and made it his mission to plead the case of studying this wisdom.
In advance of World War II, he foresaw that darkness would fall
upon the world. He believed that learning Kabbalah was the only way
for people to reveal Light. Like a revolutionary, fighting the
status quo, Rav Ashlag fought for people to unlock their
consciousness. He dedicated himself to revealing concealed aspects
of the Bible and decoding the messages within. This essay was
originally written as an introduction to The Study of the Ten
Luminous Emanations -- one of the most difficult and yet profound
kabbalistic texts. Edited by Michael Berg, the goal of this essay
was to implore the study of Kabbalah. It was Rav Ashlag's belief
that walking a kabbalistic path enabled people to find their true
purpose and subsequently enjoy a life of fulfillment. This book
gives insight into one of the greatest kabbalistic thought leaders
of all time. The text is deep and complex. One of the most
challenging aspects is the tone of urgency. As people were swept up
in pain and suffering, Rav Ashlag tried to explain that despite
outer events, the Creator is good. "Choosing life" means
challenging the sleepy way most people live. It means forming a
connection to God, removing ego and pursuing the spiritual path of
Kabbalah. Although written many decades ago, the essays are
timeless. The thoughts and messages within this text are what led
to the formation of The Kabbalah Centre.
"Amame dentro de ti. Porque yo estoy dentro de ti. En cada parte de
ti, en cada celula, yo estoy ahi. Y solamente cuando entras en
contacto profundo contigo mismo es que entras en contacto profundo
conmigo. Y solamente cuando te amas eternamente es que consigues
amarme eternamente. Yo estare siempre aqui." -- Jesus

Bestselling author Philip Matyszak explores how the Greeks and
Romans used magic, who performed it – and why. Magic was
everywhere in the ancient world. The supernatural abounded, turning
flowers into fruit and caterpillars into butterflies. Magic packed
a cloud of water vapour with energy enough to destroy a house with
one well-aimed thunderbolt. It was everyday magic, but it was still
magical. Philip Matyszak takes readers into that world. He shows us
how to make a love potion or cast a curse, how to talk to the dead
and how to identify and protect oneself from evil spirits. He takes
us to a world where gods, like humans, were creatures of space and
time; where people could not just talk to spirits and deities, but
could even themselves become divine; and where divine beings could
fall from – or be promoted to – full godhood. Ancient Magic
offers us a new way of understanding the role of magic, looking at
its history in all of its classical forms. Drawing on a wide array
of sources, from Greek dramas to curse tablets, lavishly
illustrated throughout, and packed with information, surprises,
lore and learning, this book offers an engaging and accessible way
into the supernatural for all.
The Book of Black Magic is Arthur Edward Waite's magnum opus of
occult lore; this edition contains the author's original icons,
symbols, seals and illustrations. The first part is entitled ""The
Literature of Ceremonial Magic."" Here, Waite examines the
ritualistic traditions which have surrounded the occult movement
for centuries. He notes various texts, and how they each had a
bearing upon the practice of the occult; of magical ceremony; and
the phenomena of spirit summoning. The second part, ""The Complete
Grimoire,"" concerns how those who practice black magic and occult
ritual become versed in the craft. The stringent physical and
mental requirements, and the need to practice a spiritual
attunement and inner ablution, is detailed. Astronomical knowledge
of the planets and their movements is a necessity, as is possession
of a variety of instruments, plus a deep knowledge of the various
symbols and scripts used in the occult craft.
