An FBI agent engages in a battle of minds with a woman she suspects of multiple murders in this thriller from director Bob Rafelson. Investigator Alexandra Barnes (Debra Winger) becomes obsessed with proving glamorous socialite Catharine Petersen (Theresa Russell) is a murderess responsible for the deaths of several millionaires who died suspiciously soon after marrying. Believing her to have assumed a new identity each time, Agent Barnes sets out to prove her suspicions are true, but soon finds that she too is falling under the Black Widow's spell.
Crime thriller set in Stalin-era Soviet Russia. In a state where crime isn't supposed to exist, pro-Stalin security officer Leo Demidov (Tom Hardy) begins to investigate a series of child murders. For his ignorance and betrayal of state policy, Leo finds himself demoted and exiled from the country he believed he was perfecting. Nevertheless, the persistent war hero pursues the case with only his wife Raisa (Noomi Rapace) for help. With his loyalty and beliefs shattered, Leo must try to find a killer who supposedly doesn't exist before his victim count rises further. But having been denounced, Leo may be in danger from a force far bigger than the free-roaming killer.
Paul W.S. Anderson directs this thriller starring Jude Law and Sadie Frost. In a dystopian London docklands a gang of youths vie with each other for status within the violent, criminal subculture that exists around ram-raiding and joyriding. Law plays Billy, the King of Joyriders, recently released from prison who takes up with his old girlfriend, Jo (Frost), and is soon up to his old mischief. However, there is a new kid on the block in the shape of Tommy (Sean Pertwee), who sees ram-raiding as a business rather than a lark. Meanwhile the police are hovering around waiting for Billy to step out of line.
Sean Penn, Javier Bardem and Idris Elba star in this action thriller directed by Pierre Morel and adapted from the novel by Jean-Patrick Manchette. Jim Terrier (Penn) is an ex-military contractor with post-traumatic stress disorder who hopes to leave his past behind him and settle down with his long-term partner. The film follows privileged literature professor and high stakes gambler Jim Bennett (Wahlberg) as he embarks on a relationship with his student Amy (Larson) while running up huge amounts of debt to numerous casino owners and gangsters. The supporting cast includes Jessica Lange as Bennett's mother Roberta, John Goodman as paternally inclined lender Frank, and Michael K. Williams as loan shark Neville Baraka.
The last remaining residents of a run-down London tower block find themselves targeted by a deadly sniper, in this tense British thriller written by James Moran. When they witness the brutal murder of a youth in their block, Becky (Sheridan Smith) and the other remaining residents on the 12th floor keep quiet, fearing retribution. One year later, and with the police investigation stalled, they awake one morning to find all communications to the outside world cut. Panic quickly spreads through the group when they begin to be picked off by an unknown sniper with a high-tech rifle, who prevents anyone from escaping the building, and shoots anything that moves. As the situation becomes ever more desperate, the group join together to try and find a way out. But with booby traps at every exit, it soon becomes apparent that not everyone will make it out alive.
Academy Award-winning historical drama starring Benedict Cumberbatch as British codebreaker and computer scientist Alan Turing. The film follows Turing from his teenage years to his wartime work and the trouble he later faced in his private life. Along with his friend and colleague Joan Clarke (Keira Knightly) and the rest of his team at the Government Code and Cypher School in Bletchley Park, Turing races against time to decipher the Nazi's Enigma machine during World War II. Despite playing a significant role in helping Britain defeat Germany, Turing is later convicted of homosexual acts and suffers greatly in his personal life as a result. The cast also includes Charles Dance, Mark Strong, Matthew Goode and Rory Kinnear. The film was nominated for eight Academy Awards including Best Picture, Best Actor (Cumberbatch) and Best Director, and won for Best Adapted Screenplay.
Psychological horror thriller. After a lengthy night out drinking, an unnamed banker (Axel Wedekind) wakes up in a locked vault without any recollection of how he got there. Realising he is trapped, along with a woman (Rungano Nyoni), with no food or water, the pair must try and find a way out or discover why they were put there before starvation or dehydration takes over.

True crime thriller directed by Atom Egoyan and starring Colin Firth and Reese Witherspoon. The film follows the 1993 murder and mutilation of three young boys in West Memphis, Arkansas, and the resulting trial of the three teenage boys found guilty of the killings. Firth plays visiting private investigator Ron Lax who leads the defence of the suspected killers. Through his work on the case and conversations with Pam Hobbs (Witherspoon), the mother of one of the dead children, Ron finds there may be more to the deaths than the authorities think, but will it be enough to contend with the beliefs of the small Bible Belt community?

A triple bill of sci-fi cops. The first film, 'Robocop', is set in the near future and Detroit's soaring crime rate is unsuccessfully policed by a corporation which plans to build a new city, if its workers can go about unmolested. When its new 'enforcement droid' proves unworkable, a murdered cop (Peter Weller) is wired into a computer-controlled titanium body and set to the task at hand. Unimpressed, 'Robocop' seeks vengeance on all sides in this violent but often funny tale. In the second film, 'Robocop 2', a new model, Robocop 2 (Tom Noonan), is built while Robocop 1 still patrols the streets of Detroit. Robocop 2 is given a maniac's 'soul', thereby setting the stage for a showdown between the two computer constables. Finally, in 'Robocop 3' Robocop is befriended by a young girl whose parents have been killed, and after his partner is killed by the head of a private security firm, he joins a group of rebels to fight back against the evil businessmen. There is a notable fight sequence between a plastic-like robot Ninja and the sluggish metal Robocop, which, together with the rebels hiding out in the derelict General Motors Factory, constitutes a thinly veiled critique of the Japanese car industry from the heart of Detroit - the original motor city.
All five films in the series starring Charles Bronson as a vigilante out for revenge. In 'Death Wish' (1974) mild-mannered New York architect Paul Kersey (Bronson) takes the law into his own hands after his wife is murdered and his daughter raped by a gang of thugs. Jeff Goldblum makes his big-screen debut as one of the unfortunate muggers. In 'Death Wish 2' (1981), after the suicide of his daughter in response to another violent attack, Kersey returns to the streets to deal out revenge to her assailants on a one by one basis. 'Death Wish 3' (1985) sees Kersey, still distraught at the loss of his family, take his rage out on street gangs with weapons including sub-machine guns and missile launchers. In 'Death Wish 4 - The Crackdown' (1987) the death of his girlfriend's daughter from an overdose compels Kersey to declare war on L.A.'s drug dealers. Finally, in 'Death Wish 5 - The Face of Death' (1993) the harassment of Kersey's girlfriend Livia (Lesley-Anne Down) by her ex-husband, O'Shea (Michael Parks), a Mafia boss using her business to launder money, forces Kersey back towards the gun cupboard one final time.
Drama directed by Aimee Lagos exploring the events which lead up to a carjacking and the people involved. Kevin (J. Michael Trautmann) is a troubled young white man with a desire to join a local black gang but his friend, Dre (Evan Ross), tries his best to stop him doing so. Meanwhile, two college girls, Carley and Lena (Brittany Snow and Christian Serratos), are on the eve of their graduation and trying to decide where to go to school next. The film highlights the differences between class and race, and brings them together in a chaotic climax.

A deadly power struggle erupts between Tokyo's Yakuza clans in this edgy thriller from actor/director Takeshi 'Beat' Kitano. Fearing that his trusted second-in-command, Ikemoto (Jun Kunimura), has struck a deal with his drug-dealing rivals, the Murase family, overall Yakuza clan boss 'The Chairman' (Soichiro Kitamura) orders Ikemoto to warn the Murases to back off. Realising he's under suspicion, Ikemoto passes the order onto his ageing underling Otomo (Kitano), telling him to use any means necessary.
