This brilliant overview of the growth, supression, and modern-day reemergence of Wicca as a Goddess-worshipping religion has left an indelible mark on the feminist spiritual consciousness. In this beautiful 20th-anniversary edition, Starhawk now reveals the ways in which the practice of ritual and Goddess religion have, in the face of a changing world, developed over the last 20 years – and the ways in which these changes have influenced and enhanced her original ideas. This important spiritual guidebook provides both the tools of ancient practice and the means to adapt them to our lives today – for, according to Starhawk, ‘a living tradition is not static or fixed; it changes and responds to changing needs and changing times.’
"The Resurrection of the Meadow" is described by the author as "A
Record of Thirteen Occult Formulas & Charms of Art with Purport
& A Sealing Conjuration & their many useful Sorcerous
Permutations, Writ & Gathered on Walpurgis Night 2010, For
those Inquisitive Adepts who walk The despised path of True
Sorcery, The long-dimmed radiance of the Ancient Gold of the Wise."
Found within this full, self-contained working grimoire is a system
of sorcery relying on the ancient spiritual aesthetic of the
Faery-Faith and the Metaphysics of Elfhame- interaction with the
Unseen world through the vehicle of the spirit-forms or the
fetch-bodies of non-human persons that are merged with the land
around us. Steeped in folklore and a much older form of deep
ecology, it is a powerful work of Art for the discerning occultist.
The grimoire contains, among other things, full instructions for
sealing and protecting the "Meadow" or sanctified outdoors
locations, the "Feery Feast," the manifesting of the powerful
"Weird of the Cairn," the creation of sacred interaction-points
with the "Convocation of the Meadow" or Land-spirits, various
Crossings, arboreal workings for harvesting and gathering sorcerous
components from tree and plant weirds, charms of increase and
fertility, and the creation of the fearful "White Mommet" for works
of sympathetic magic.

Whole villages of alleged witches have been set up under the protection of the police and hardly a day goes by without a witchcraft killing being reported by the media. The South African Witchcraft Suppression Act was meant to suppress beliefs in witchcraft but, on the contrary, the Act has lead to an increase in
witchcraft violence.
Witchcraft accusations and violence are generating new forms of popular justice that threaten to destabilize the state's administration of justice. What is to be done?
This text is the lead editor's and others response to the problem. From within government circles appreciation came Dr Mathole Motshekga, a member of the Gauteng Provincial government, who said "This volume raises the discussion of the problem to a new level by comprehensively exploring all aspects of it in an interdisciplinary context. [It] will turn up the heat on government to take action."
While situation is unique, it has been studied by many scholars as all countries have problems with unwanted people. This is the bane of all lawmakers; how much is too much? Mass hysteria occurs in all peoples, this a well-documented case.

Broth from the Cauldron is a collection of "teaching stories," a
literary Wiccan soup for the soul. It is a distillation of the
wisdom Cerridwen Fallingstar has gathered from her journey through
life, and from her forty years as a Shamanic teacher and Wiccan
Priestess. At turns poignant and humorous, it chronicles her
trajectory from a Republican cold war upbringing to Pagan
Priestess, offering a portrait of a culture growing from denial to
awareness. Accessible to any audience interested in personal
growth, Broth from the Cauldron is for anyone who's ever stood at
the crossroads wishing a faery godmother would come along and show
them the path.
The text is a composite. Some of it is Leland's translation into
English of an original Italian manuscript, the Vangelo (gospel).
Leland reported receiving the manuscript from his primary informant
on Italian witchcraft beliefs, a woman Leland referred to as
"Maddalena" and whom he called his "witch informant" in Italy. The
rest of the material comes from Leland's research on Italian
folklore and traditions, including other related material from
Maddalena. Leland had been informed of the Vangelo's existence in
1886, but it took Maddalena eleven years to provide him with a
copy. After translating and editing the material, it took another
two years for the book to be published. Its fifteen chapters
portray the origins, beliefs, rituals and spells of an Italian
pagan witchcraft tradition. The central figure of that religion is
the goddess Aradia, who came to Earth to teach the practice of
witchcraft to peasants in order for them to oppose their feudal
oppressors and the Catholic Church.

A beautifully illustrated guide from a Celtic Wiccan High Priestess
to celebrating the Wiccan way, from Halloween to handfastings, as
well as everyday rituals to enhance all areas of your life. The
Wiccan calendar is marked by significant festivals, called sabbats.
The most famous is Halloween, also known as Samhain, but you will
be familiar with others, too, such as the Summer and Winter
Solstices. Wiccans celebrate these sabbats with rituals, crafts,
and food and drink, and in this book, Silja reveals how you can
bring some of that magic into your life, even if working as a
solitary witch. She also details other special days throughout the
year, such as August 23, the Roman festival of Vulcanalia, which is
celebrated with bonfires. Discover, too, how Wiccans celebrate
personal rites of passage, such as the naming of a baby and a
couple committing to each other in a Wiccan wedding, known as a
handfasting. Finally, Silja explains how to write your own daily,
weekly, or monthly rituals to bring you peace and happiness.
Lavishly illustrated throughout, this is your essential guide to
all your Wiccan celebrations.

The things that people in the modern Western world consider
"occult/' secret, forbidden, or irrational-amulets and talismans,
omens and divinations, spells and charms, spirits good and evil-are
part of everyday life in many parts of the world, and have been for
generations. In this fascinating book, occult scholar and
practitioner John Michael Greer shines light on 100 of the dramatic
incidents, arcane knowledge, and colorful historical figures from
occult traditions over two and a half millennia-from the earliest
alchemists of ancient Egypt, Babylon, and Greece; to pagan rituals;
the Philosopher's Stone; Kabbala; the first tarot; the Knights
Templar; to the Nazi Thule Party; fortunetelling trials; and the
birth of modern witchcraft, or Wicca. Each entry illustrated with a
stunning image or intriguing item of ephemera.
