First published in 1994. The goal of this study is to find the
correlations between the internal constituency of the syllable and
the sonority of segments. Its major claim is that valid
correlations can be established only under the moraic theory of
syllable-internal structure. This work thus represents an argument
for the moraic theory of the syllable. This title will be of
interest to students of language and linguistics.
