Im interdisziplinaren Diskurs ging es darum, die Bedrohung durch Infektionserreger zu eruieren und die Reaktionsmoeglichkeiten der Gesellschaft auszuloten. Das Symposium wurde von der Arbeitsgruppe "Infektionsforschung und Gesellschaft" der Akademie der Wissenschaften in Hamburg konzipiert.
