Swimming Upstream is a book that talked about why people live a
life of excuses and how you can train yourself to get out of that
mindset and begin to execute your dreams. It talks about how to
become a leader and the reality of what it takes to attain a
leadership position and keep in once you get there. Conventional
theory says leaders must be kind, team players, motivational and
that they must make sure they inspire you. However is that reality?
There is an alternate side of leadership that is not talked about.
Once you attain the position you seek, you then must learn how to
strategically keep moving forward. As you begin to swim upstream,
against the current you will be faced with opposition, however
then, and only then can innovation and true growth occur. These are
the laws of a leader.
