Cysts are pathological cavities that may or may not be lined by the
epithelium and are filled with either gas, fluid or semi-solid
materials. Once formed, a cyst could go away on its own or may have
to be removed through surgery. In this book, the authors present
current research in the study of the causes, diagnosis and
treatment options of cysts. Topics discussed include recent
advances in the diagnostic imaging of cysts and pseudocysts in the
oral and maxillofacial region; inflammatory odontogenic cysts;
cystic renal pathology; non-parasitic benign liver cysts; and the
malignant potential of epidermal and verrucous cutaneous cysts.
