In 1963 Barry Peterson left Australia for Vietnam to train local
tribes to defend their villages against the Vietcong. This is the
story of those Truong Son, or "Tiger Men, " who became the most
respected and feared native forces in South Vietnam. But it is also
the sad story of the defeat and destruction of the Montagnard
culture and way of life, as Vietnamese and American leadership
ultimately turned its back on its loyal supporters.
