from 28 American Library Association (ALA) accredited program
schools to document the history and growth of distance education
for the library and information science (LIS) professions. Their
experiences, successes, unforeseen problems and solutions to those,
provide practical information and a much-needed benchmark for those

opportunities within their programs.
