On each of these pages you will find a question. Some are quirky.
Some are kinky. Some will make you chuckle. And some will make you
cry. Each is a conversation starter designed to help you and your
partner achieve more intimacy; emotional intimacy, that is. (And I
suppose that more emotional intimacy might lead to more physical
intimacy, but I'll leave that for you two to figure out.) How many
times has your partner misunderstood you? And can you guess how
many times you have misunderstood them? I wonder how much of this
could be cured by a deeper understanding of what is in their heart?
Deep understanding: that just might be the key. Unabashed sharing:
that just might help. There is more to this philosophy than just
being truthful with your partner. In fact, these questions don't go
the traditional therapy route; I'll leave that to the
professionals. Instead, the questions are about dreams. They are
about desires. They are about vulnerability. And so I ask you to
cuddle up next to that person you love so much. Cuddle up in the
darkness, feet touching, with a blanket of warmth around you. Let
your inhibitions step aside for now. Take turns asking a single
question at a time, and let the responses lead you where they may.
It is my hope that things will be just a bit more intimate tonight.
And tomorrow you'll be a stronger couple. I promise.
