This monograph provides an outlook for the translation in Europe
during the Middle Ages. It has been one of the main activities for
DHuMAR research project; as such, it is the first volume of a
series focused on the history of Medieval translation. This volume
takes the question of textual transmission from the beginning of
the Middle Ages until the break of Humanism and relies on the
contributions of renowned specialists on the subject. Each work has
been arranged in chronological order: the starting point is the
first translations carried out in France, then in the Anglo-Saxon
world, in the German and Nordic languages, and finally in the
Mediterranean Basin, the Iberian Peninsula and Italy.
