Souls 40 Years - Volume 3 (Paperback)

SOULS is a photographic essay by Emanuel Dimas de Melo Pimenta, started in 1973. It is a collection of portraits of hundreds of people made in the last forty years. More than a simple collection of pictures, SOULS is a conceptual work about the zeitgeist, the spirit of the time. They are 350 people from 40 countries, from famous personages like Ornette Coleman, Merce Cunningham, John Cage, Rene Berger, Mario Merz, Pierre Restany or Harald Szeemann, to people less known. SOULS is a work in progress. It has had many exhibitions in diverse countries in the last twenty-five years. Now, the 40 edition of the Project - which includes exhibitions and movie beyond the book - is dedicated to Lucrezia De Domizio, Baroness Durini - legendary personage of contemporary art. SOULS is published in four volumes. The book has an introduction by Pilar Parcerisas, the great Spanish art critic, historian and curator; and another text by Emanuel Pimenta.
