Represents the first systematic attempt to understand the ritual of
apology with an explicitly gendered theoretical toolkit. Provides a
detailed comparative case study analysis of two politically
important instances of apology for conflict-related sexual violence
which took place in very different geographical, political and
cultural contexts.
