Harold Morton Kramer, 1873-1930, was a noted Indiana author of
Christian works in the early 20th Century. A veteran of the
Spanish-American War of 1898, he was overage for active military
service, but joined the YMCA and shipped out to France as part of
the organizations outreach to servicemen serving at the Front. In
this volume, published just a year after the end of the war, he
recalls his experiences in France and England, describing not only
the battlefields and soldiers, but also the lives of the civilians
living in a country under siege by the forces of an invading enemy.
