English description: The codex originates from around 1158 and was
made in Helmarshausen, next to Corvey. It contains a dedication
miniature (page 11) and 85 richly illustrated text pages with the
names of monks from other abbeys which had connectionsto Corvey.
German description: Das Fraternitatsbuch "Liber vitae" der
Reichsabtei Corvey, heute im Staatsarchiv Munster aufbewahrt, ist
historisch wie kunstlerisch gleichermassen bedeutsam. Der um 1158
im benachbarten Helmarshausen geschaffene Codex enthalt eine
Widmungsminiatur mit dem Bild des Hl. Stephanus, der von den Abten
Warin von Corvey und Hilduin von St. Denis flankiert wird, und dem
Propst Adalbert von Corvey (1147 bis 1176) die Handschrift
uberreicht, sowie 85 reich geschmuckte Textseiten mit den Namen der
in Gebetsbruderschaft mit Corvey stehenden Monche anderer Abteien.
