Die Rontgendiagnostik der Weichteile hat in den letzten beiden Jahrzehnten erheblich an Bedeutung gewonnen. Eine Zusammenfassung des heutigen Wissensstandes in einem geschlossenen Handbuchband war daher wunschenswert. Bei der Durchfiihrung erschien es den Herausgebern jedoch zweckmaBiger, die Erkrankungen der peripheren Arterien und Venen in groBerem Zusammenhang mit dem Herzen und den groBen GefaBen im Band X, 3 abzuhandeln, die Lymphographie und Lymphadenographie aber wegen ihrer Sonderstellung im Rahmen der Weichteildiagnostik zu belassen. Hierdurch wurde es moglich, unter Vermeidung von Wiederholungen der eigentlichen Weichteildiagnostik einen groBeren Raum zur Verfugung zu stellen und die Akzente so zu setzen, daB auch dieser Band als eine relativ geschlossene Einheit angesehen werden kann. Mainz, Februar 1967 L. DIETHELM Preface The importance of roentgendiagnosis of the soft structures has increased considerably during the past two decades. Therefore a summary of present knowledge on the subject in a single textbook was desirable. In compiling such a summary, however, it seemed more appropriate to the editors to discuss the diseases of the peripheral arteries and veins together with the heart and large vessels in Volume X, 3 and to leave lymphography and lymphadenography in the frame of soft structure diagnosis because of their particular nature. In this way it became possible to allow more space to actual soft structure diagnosis and to place the emphasis in such a manner that this volume as well can be considered a relatively complete unit.
