Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are among the most widely used drugs for the suppression of inflammation and pain. However, the therapeutic uses of NSAIDs are frequently limited by the significant negative side effects including ulceration, most notably in the gastrointestinal tract.
