This book discusses the challenges of restructuring on human
resources management in the Nigerian banking industry. The book
similarly carried out a review of literature on the subject mater
in order to provide deep insight into the challenges of
restructuring. Besides, the book adopted a survey to generate the
needed data using institutional questionnaire administered to
twenty-four (24) banks at the Nigerian Inter-banks Settlement
System (NIBSS). The six tested hypotheses revealed that there is a
relationship between restructuring and improved HRM
polices/principles; stable employment opportunity in the banking
industry; improved remuneration for retained employees relative to
their former status; adequate payment of severance packages for
laid off employees; optimal number of employees and improved
industrial relations.
