Sheila is a young girl who grows up in an inner city project where the poor are placed and forgotten. She struggles to stay alive at the hands of an abusive father and a narcissistic mother. Her first escape fails and she finds herself living on the street desperately trying to survive. Sheila will be forced to return and live behind the drapes, until she is able to plan another getaway. Time passes, but the dream that one day she will be free never dies. The day will arrive and she will escape for good.
