This book examines some of the techniques which deal with the
pulmonary and extra-pulmonary tuberculosis in about 46 patients,
whose blood samples were collected from different hospitals in
Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh. In this era of tuberculosis and the
global resurgence of infectious diseases such as AIDS and malaria,
there is wide-spread interest and concern about the cultural,
ecological and political factors directly related to the increased
prevalence of infectious disease. The interrelationship between
sensitivity of mantoux, ESR and smear positivity rates will have a
varied effect on the diagnosis of tuberculosis. This material will
be a vital resource for those working in or studying medical
anthropology, epidemiology and public health, international health
and infectious disease and medical parasitology.
