'Life Goes On' is a photographic book which commemorates the
centenary of The First World War. It focusses on the ordinary
moments experienced by all the men, women and children, both on the
Home Front and on the Front line but not engaged in combat. The
book portrays, through photographs and contemporary illustrations,
the lives of these unseen families and individuals. It shows the
joys, the hardships, the stoicism, the grief, the celebrations and
the precious moments of peace, all experienced by those ordinary
people whose lives continued despite the horrors of the trenches in
Europe. They are the ones whose 'lives went on' and, through these
photographs, we are able to know their stories.
