Unlike some other reproductions of classic texts (1) We have not
used OCR(Optical Character Recognition), as this leads to bad
quality books with introduced typos. (2) In books where there are
images such as portraits, maps, sketches etc We have endeavoured to
keep the quality of these images, so they represent accurately the
original artefact. Although occasionally there may be certain
imperfections with these old texts, we feel they deserve to be made
available for future generations to enjoy.

This book provides the first summary and critical appraisal of the
thinking that currently informs the management of business
relationships, from the perspectives of both the buyer and
supplier. The authors argue that these approaches are
one-dimensional and instead recommend a more holistic approach
based on power, interaction and portfolio perspectives. The book
provides evidence of how relationships can be aligned and
misaligned in practice, using eighteen examples drawn from a
variety of business cases and circumstances.
The idea for this book arose during the 1985 Gordon Conference on
"Mammary Gland Biology." New developments in the methodology of
cell biology and the explosive growth of molecular biology had
begun to impact upon our understanding of mammary gland growth and
function. It seemed a propitious time for summarizing the current
status of knowledge of the cell and molecular biology of mammary
cancer and for attempting to outline future areas of concern and
interest. The reviews presented here were completed by the Fall of
1986. Although new insights will surely continue to emerge, it is
hoped that the material in this volume will form not only a current
update but a basic core of information for future experiments. We
have not attempted to cover all areas of mammary gland
transformation. Those areas where recent detailed reviews are
already available have been omitted. Also, the areas of normal
gland development, cell ultrastructure, hormone responsiveness,
chemotherapy and clinical aspects of mammary cancer have not been
included. Instead, we have selected those areas where the
development of new methodology, reagents and results have led to
new ideas about mammary gland function and development as they are
related to neoplasia.
This book is the result of a four-year study into the most commonly
used management tools and techniques in the areas of business
strategy and finance, marketing, production and operations, and
procurement and supply chain management. It explains which tools
are used in small, medium-sized and large companies, whether based
in the US, Europe or Asia, across many different industrial and
service sectors. It explains where companies find out about
particular tools, and examines which appear to be the most
successful.

In the second edition of Interviewing, experienced educators Rob
Anderson and G. Michael Killenberg explain and demystify the
interviewing process, offering students a practical guide to the
fascinating art of asking and answering questions. Throughout, they
urge students not to view interviewing as a procedure or as a
collection of techniques; instead, they present the process of
interviewing as a fascinating opportunity for learning through
dialogue. The basic motivation for interviewing is learning
something new.
Each chapter features two sections: "The Basics," which describes
essential skills, and "Beyond the Basics," which places them into a
relevant context. Moreover, interviewing skills are clearly divided
into three interrelated types: Listening, Questioning, and Framing.
To highlight the practical, real-world significance of
interviewing, the authors encourage students to apply their
learning actively and to connect their skills with ideas from other
communication, social science, and humanities courses. This
student-friendly text also includes the following features:
* An emphasis on how interviewing contributes to the quality of
public dialogue
* An integrated approach to both interviewer and interviewee
roles
* In-depth coverage of culture and ethics
* Innovative boxed supplements, including:
- "Interviewers/Interviewees in Action" boxes, featuring
first-person accounts
- "Trying Out Your Skills" boxes
- End-of-chapter "Making Your Decision" boxes, which present
interactive hypothetical situations designed to generate class
discussion
In addition, each chapter includes "The Interview Bookshelf," an
annotated section recommending booksthat students will find helpful
for further reading or for future interviewing-related assignments
in other classes. A comprehensive online Instructor's Resource
Guide is also available and provides suggestions for class
activities, resources, and assignments.
Should Christians even bother with the modern wing at the art
museum? After all, modern art and artists are often caricatured as
rabidly opposed to God, the church-indeed, to faith of any kind.
But is that all there is to the story? In this Studies in Theology
and the Arts volume, coeditors Cameron J. Anderson and G. Walter
Hansen gather the reflections of artists, art historians, and
theologians who collectively offer a more complicated narrative of
the history of modern art and its place in the Christian life.
Here, readers will find insights on the work and faith of artists
including Marc Chagall, Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko, Andy Warhol,
and more. For those willing to look with eyes of faith, they may
just find that God is present in the modern wing too. The Studies
in Theology and the Arts series encourages Christians to
thoughtfully engage with the relationship between their faith and
artistic expression, with contributions from both theologians and
artists on a range of artistic media including visual art, music,
poetry, literature, film, and more.
The past several years have seen strong disagreements between the
U.S. government and many of its European allies, largely due to the
deployment of NATO forces in Afghanistan and the commitment of
national forces to the occupation of Iraq. News accounts of these
challenges focus on isolated incidents and points of contention.
The End of the West? addresses some basic questions: Are we
witnessing a deepening transatlantic rift, with wide-ranging
consequences for the future of world order? Or are today's
foreign-policy disagreements the equivalent of dinner-table
squabbles? What harm, if any, have recent events done to the
enduring relationships between the U.S. government and its European
counterparts? The contributors to this volume, whose backgrounds
range from political science and history to economics, law, and
sociology, examine the "deep structure" of an order that was first
imposed by the Allies in 1945 and has been a central feature of
world politics ever since. Creatively and insightfully blending
theory and evidence, the chapters in The End of the West? examine
core structural features of the transatlantic world to determine
whether current disagreements are minor and transient or
catastrophic and permanent.
