Sci-fi thriller directed by Wally Pfister and starring Johnny Depp.
Dr. Will Caster (Depp) is one of the leading scientists in the
world due to his pioneering work in creating sentient artificial
intelligence. However, with fame and success comes the attention of
a technophobic extremist group seeking to put an end to his work
before he creates something beyond human control. When Caster is
shot by a member of the group and falls victim to radiation
poisoning, there is no hope for his survival. With the help of his
wife Evelyn (Rebecca Hall) and friend Max (Paul Bettany) he decides
to continue his latest project by linking his mind with that of the
computer and creating technology more intelligent than the
collective capability of the entire human race. While his earthly
body dies, Caster's mind is fully embedded within the computer and
he soon begins to exercise the potential of his newly-gained power.
But with this power comes great destruction which threatens the
future of mankind...
Meet Luis. He's out, he's proud ... and, although he doesn't know
it yet, he's about to travel back in time to save a closeted
student called Chaz from a tragic end. All Luis Gonzalez really
wants is to go to prom with his boyfriend. But when a hit on the
head knocks him back in time to 1985, he finds himself in high
school with his own parents and a whole lot of homophobia. It turns
out a Christian school in the 1980s probably isn't the safest place
to be a gay kid. Soon, Luis is in over his head trying to untangle
the mess he's in, figure how to save Chaz ... and somehow get home
to his own time. Get ready for an irresistible YA novel that puts
an Own Voices twist on Back to the Future. Perfect for fans of Adam
Silvera, Becky Albertalli and Casey McQuiston, this hilarious,
intersectional time-slip adventure will make you laugh, cry and
think.

Paul Edgecomb (Tom Hanks) is a slightly cynical veteran prison guard on death row in the 1930's. His faith, and sanity, deteriorated by watching men live and die. Edgecomb is about to have a complete turn around in attitude. Enter John Coffey (Oscar" nominated Michael Clarke Duncan). He's eight feet tall. He has hands the size of waffle irons. He's been accused of the murder of two children... and he's afraid to sleep in a cell without a night-light. And Edgecomb, as well as the other prison guards - Brutus, a sympathetic guard, and Percy, a stuck-up, perverse, and violent person, are in for a strange experience that involves intelligent mice, brutal executions, and the revelation about Coffey's innocence and his true identity.
