This book explores translation strategies for films and TV programs. On the basis of case studies on subtitle translations, it argues that translators are expected to take into consideration not only linguistic and cultural differences but also the limits of time and space. Based on the editor's experience working as a translator for TV, journalist, and narrator, this book proposes employing editorial translation for TV translation. Further, in light of statistics on international audiences' views on Chinese films, it suggests striking a balance between conveying cultural messages and providing good entertainment.
This book elaborates on the six pillars of a healthy and standardized real-estate brokerage industry: the generation, distribution and matching of information; the transaction system; circulation finance; mobile Internet; the supervision system; and professional brokers. With each of these pillars playing a role, they also mutually interact to constitute an integrated framework that regulates the brokerage industry. Presenting practicable, extensive and cutting-edge research that encompasses various areas of the industry and detailed case studies from around the globe, the book provides a number of suggestions that have already been adopted and have begun to take effect. It also explores the frontiers of the real-estate brokerage industry - the incorporation of the internet, the blurred boundary between online and offline service where brokerages are moving online, client acquisition is via the internet, and benchmark companies are focusing more on their trading service capacity, each building their own controllable trading environment.
This book aims to explore the development model of Great Bay Area (GBA) of China as economic engine under the context of open policy. Based on comprehensive research, both theoretically and practically, on the leading free ports in the world and the regional development of well-known bay areas, it analyzes the challenges and opportunities of GBA synergetic free ports. A series of initiatives on the development of GBA synergetic free ports are proposed, including the synergy of space, industry, finance, technological innovation, institution, social governance, and personnel. Also, it ends with a system dynamic model to simulate the regional impact on GBA synergetic free ports, which indicates that economic development, trade, government finance, and population agglomeration would be improved significantly, in the GBA synergetic free ports scenario.
This book offers data-based insights into the problems of translation education and their causes in the context of localization and globalization in the era of big data. By examining language services around the globe, illustrating applications of big-data technology and their future development, and describing crowdsourcing and online collaborative translations, speech-to-speech translation and cloud-based translation, it makes readers aware of the important changes taking place in the professional translation market and consequently recognize the insufficiency of translation education and the need for it to be restructured accordingly. Furthermore, the book includes data-based analyses of translation education problems, such as teaching philosophy, curriculum design and faculty development of both undergraduate and postgraduate education in China. More importantly, it proposes solutions that have already been successful in experiments in a number of universities in China for other institutions of higher education to imitate in restructuring translation education. The discussion is of interest for current and future translation policy makers, translation educators, translators and learners.
This book is a brief and focused introduction to the reverse mathematics and computability theory of combinatorial principles, an area of research which has seen a particular surge of activity in the last few years. It provides an overview of some fundamental ideas and techniques, and enough context to make it possible for students with at least a basic knowledge of computability theory and proof theory to appreciate the exciting advances currently happening in the area, and perhaps make contributions of their own. It adopts a case-study approach, using the study of versions of Ramsey's Theorem (for colorings of tuples of natural numbers) and related principles as illustrations of various aspects of computability theoretic and reverse mathematical analysis. This book contains many exercises and open questions.
This volume presents the lecture notes of short courses given by three leading experts in mathematical logic at the 2012 Asian Initiative for Infinity Logic Summer School. The major topics cover set-theoretic forcing, higher recursion theory, and applications of set theory to C*-algebra. This volume offers a wide spectrum of ideas and techniques introduced in contemporary research in the field of mathematical logic to students, researchers and mathematicians.

This book adopted 66 brand crisis events as research samples taking place from 2010 to 2016 on social media (Chinese Weibo), performs research on influence mechanism of brand-crisis information-sharing behavior on social media from contextual perspective. The book explores into the fluctuation characteristics of information-sharing behavior, the contextual influence factors, both the static and dynamic mechanism of information-sharing behavior, and regulation measures of crisis information sharing behavior. The important features of the book are reflected in accurate analysis of the autocorrelation, trend characteristics, periodic characteristics and cluster characteristics of the fluctuation of crisis information sharing behavior, and deep exploration of dynamic mechanism and static mechanism of the time lag characteristics, impulsive disturbance, and marginal influence of the impact of information sharing behavior from perspective of situational factors. The book mainly focuses on the field of brand crisis management, and construct the formation and evolution mechanism of brand crisis information sharing behavior from both vertical and horizontal dimensions through a combination of theoretical exposition and case analysis, so that readers can got a clear understanding of brand crisis information communication and management through dimension reduction. The book can be used as a textbook for undergraduates and postgraduates in economics and management in colleges and universities, can also be a reference for business managers, scientific researchers and others interested in the field of crisis management.
