When an Irish busker and a young Czech mother meet through a shared
love of music, their songwriting sparks a deep connection and a
tender, longing romance that neither of them could have expected.
Based on the much-loved Oscar-winning film, Once is an
extraordinary, original and irresistibly joyous celebration of
love, friendship and music. With music and lyrics by Glen Hansard
and Markéta Irglová, it has a book written by Enda Walsh. Once
won eight Tony Awards when it opened on Broadway in 2012, including
Best Book and Best Musical. It opened in Dublin in February 2013
before transferring to the West End.
"No horsefeathers, this is a surefire bet for young equestrians."

Do you love horses? Do you love the way their noses are silky-soft
but bristly too? And the way a horse's tail slowly swishes as he
rests in the shade with eyes half-shut? Do you love to see them
trot, canter, gallop, buck and rear? Every child who has ever
clambered up the back of a pony or dreamed of owning a horse will
delight in A FIELD FULL OF HORSES. Full of interesting facts about
horses, this handsome book captures the very essence of horses for
the very young.
Time-of-flight (TOF) cameras provide a depth value at each pixel,
from which the 3D structure of the scene can be estimated. This new
type of active sensor makes it possible to go beyond traditional 2D
image processing, directly to depth-based and 3D scene processing.
Many computer vision and graphics applications can benefit from TOF
data, including 3D reconstruction, activity and gesture
recognition, motion capture and face detection. It is already
possible to use multiple TOF cameras, in order to increase the
scene coverage, and to combine the depth data with images from
several colour cameras. Mixed TOF and colour systems can be used
for computational photography, including full 3D scene modelling,
as well as for illumination and depth-of-field manipulations. This
work is a technical introduction to TOF sensors, from architectural
and design issues, to selected image processing and computer vision
methods.
In May 1999 the Scottish Parliament opened with high expectations.
The decade since has seen a transformation in Scottish politics. As
the Parliament's 10th anniversary approaches, now is the perfect
time to reflect on its role in the Scottish and wider UK political
process. What have been the challenges and its achievements? Have
expectations been met? The Scottish Parliament's four Founding
Principles - access and participation, equal opportunities,
accountability and power sharing - aimed to establish a body
answerable to the people of Scotland. This project, run by the
Hansard Society, will bring together a group of varied and
distinguished commentators to discuss some of the key issues in the
development of the Scottish Parliament over the past decade. They
will explore whether initial expectations have been met and analyse
how the Parliament has evolved at the core of a new Scottish
political process.

With statistics showing that 1 in 5 women have experienced some
form of sexual abuse, it is likely that all birth professionals
will support a survivor of such abuse at some point during their
career. This book provides practical advice for those supporting
these women throughout their pregnancy, labour, and postnatal
periods. The impact of past sexual abuse on women during these
periods is often underestimated, and this book shows the need for
greater compassion and understanding in maternity services
regarding this issue. Drawing on a vast range of research and
expertise, this book includes details on the identifiable
behaviours of survivors, how to respond when someone says they are
a survivor, positive stories, and appropriate language to use. This
book is for any care provider who wants to help pregnancy,
childbirth and the postnatal period become a healing experience for
those carrying trauma, and to support these survivors with
compassion, respect and kindness.
