Die versiemaker Philip de Vos en die kunstenaar Piet Grobler skep prettige rympies en illustrasies geïnspireer deur die komponis Camille Saint-Saëns se Le carnaval des animaux (1886). Saint-Saëns se werk is geïnspireer deur leeus, hoenders, muile, skilpaaie, olifante, kangaroes en ander diere. Die werk bestaan uit 14 bewegings wat vir twee klaviere en ’n kamerorkes geskryf is.
