Content marketing is one of the most important pieces of the
marketing plan, but many businesses do not take approach it
strategically. As Chief Strategy Advisor for the Content Marketing

Advisory, Robert Rose helps transform brands by honing their
content marketing. In this book, he walks readers through his
scalable, strategic approach. Content Marketing Strategy explains

success. The chapters cover stacking a team, working with marketing
and branding professionals on a consistent tone and message,

and measuring the resulting outcomes. Filled with compelling

new model that will transform and optimize your content marketing.
Killing your current marketing structure may be the only way to
save it! Two of the world's top marketing experts reveal the next
level of breakthrough success-transforming your marketing strategy
into a standalone profit center. What if everything we currently
know about marketing is what is holding us back? Over the last two
decades, we've watched the entire world change the way it buys and
stays loyal to brands. But, marketing departments are still
operating in the same, campaign-centric, product-led operation that
they have been following for 75 years. The most innovative
companies around the world have achieved remarkable marketing
results by fundamentally changing their approach. By creating value
for customers through the use of owned media and the savvy use of
content, these businesses have dramatically increased customer
loyalty and revenue. Some of them have even taken it to the next
step and developed a marketing function that actually pays for
itself. Killing Marketing explores how these companies are ending
the marketing as we know it-in favor of this new, exciting model.
Killing Marketing provides the insight, approaches, and examples
you need to understand these disruptive forces in ways that turn
your marketing from cost center to revenue creator. This book
builds the case for, literally, transforming the purpose of
marketing within your organization. Joe Pulizzi and Robert Rose of
the Content Marketing Institute show how leading companies are able
sell the very content that propels their marketing strategy. You'll
learn how to: * Transform all or part of your marketing operation
into a media company * Integrate this new operation into
traditional marketing efforts * Develop best practices for
attracting and retaining audiences * Build a strategy for competing
against traditional media companies * Create a paid/earned media
strategy fueled by an owned media strategy Red Bull, Johnson &
Johnson, Disney and Arrow Electronics have succeeded in what ten
years ago would have been deemed impossible. They continue to
market their products as they always have, and, through their
content-driven and audience-building initiatives, they drive value
outside the day-to-day products they sell-and monetize it directly.
Killing Marketing rewrites the rules of marketing-enabling you to
make the kind of transition that turns average companies into
industry legends.

An examination into aspects of the sexual as depicted in a variety
of medieval texts, from Chaucer and Malory to romance and
alchemical treatises. It is often said that the past is a foreign
country where they do things differently, and perhaps no type of
"doing" is more fascinating than sexual desires and behaviours. Our
modern view of medieval sexuality is characterised bya polarising
dichotomy between the swooning love-struck knights and ladies of
romance on one hand, and the darkly imagined and misogyny of an
unenlightened "medieval" sexuality on the other. British medieval
sexual culture also exhibits such dualities through the influential
paradigms of sinner or saint, virgin or whore, and protector or
defiler of women. However, such sexual identities are rarely
coherent or stable, and it is in the grey areas, the interstices
between normative modes of sexuality, that we find the most
compelling instances of erotic frisson and sexual expression. This
collection of essays brings together a wide-ranging discussion of
the sexual possibilitiesand fantasies of medieval Britain as they
manifest themselves in the literature of the period. Taking as
their matter texts and authors as diverse as Chaucer, Gower,
Dunbar, Malory, alchemical treatises, and romances, the
contributions reveal a surprising variety of attitudes, strategies
and sexual subject positions. Amanda Hopkins teaches in English and
French at the University of Warwick; Robert Allen Rouse is
Associate Professor of English atthe University of British
Columbia, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada; Cory James Rushton
is Associate Professor of English at St Francis Xavier University
in Nova Scotia, Canada. Contributors: Aisling Byrne, Anna Caughey,
Kristina Hildebrand, Amy S. Kaufman, Yvette Kisor, Megan G. Leitch,

Investigation into the importance of the Anglo-Saxon past in
medieval literature. As the point of origin, both real and
imagined, of English law and group identity, the Anglo-Saxon past
was important in the construction of a post-Conquest English
society that was both aware of, and placed great stock in, its
Anglo-Saxon heritage; yet its depiction in post-Conquest literature
has been very little studied. This book examines a wide range of
sources (legal and historiographical as well as literary) in order
to reveal a "social construction" of Anglo-Saxon England that held
a significant place in the literary and cultural imagination of the
post-Conquest English. Using a variety of texts, but the Matter of
England romances in particular, the author argues that theyshow a
continued interest in the Anglo-Saxon past, from the localised East
Sussex legend of King Alfred that underlies the twelfth-century
Proverbs of Alfred, to the institutional interest in the Guy of
Warwick narrative exhibited by the community of St. Swithun's
Priory in Winchester during the fifteenth century; they are part of
a continued cultural remembrance that encompasses chronicles, folk
memories, and literature. Dr ROBERT ALLLEN ROUSE teaches in the
Department of English, University of British Columbia.

CAREGIVING: The SECRETS ARE... is for Caregivers (CG) and their
Loved Ones (LO). ALL chronic, serious illnesses have many things in
common. The STRESSES that occur while they are trying to cope with
their fears, frustrations, anger, and confusion are bewildering
even terrifying. They are often unprepared to deal with these
problems. Despite his experience and training you will read how
Dr.Rose made more mistakes than good decisions. From these, as he
did as a successful teacher, he found that he had to challenge what
was "common knowledge." He had to find what he could and was
willing to change to save his health and sanity. What was necessary
to bring Marie back from depression (and side effects from
prescribed medications)? There was also the misdiagnosis of
Alzheimer's.He takes you through their struggles as he learns what
works and what doesn't. Each CG must look into her/his mind and
heart and find what works best (it changes) based on each's
flexibility, honesty, courage, patience, and the individual
responses of the LO as the LO tries to understand and deal with
what is happening in her/his mind and body.
This is the second book in a series about the guests on Dr.Rose's
internet radio show - www.blogtalkradio.com/icdrrose. Each is a
person who is a Change Agent and a significant RESOURCE in her/his
field. Beside getting an interesting article about each, you will
have the show's address of the interview to learn more, but also
have ways to personally CONTACT each. The range of guests is
eclectic and includes experts in relationships, marriage,
education, finance, business, futures studies, science, medicine,
as well as other disciplines. Most are life-changing stories that
could change yours - for the better.
Does love have to be "blind"? Is "passion" equated with loss of
balance, unrealistic expectations, insanity - stupidity? Some say
passion cannot last, If so, does it fizzle out, disappear with only
a distant memory of its unbelievable highs? Or, can passion be the
motor that only needs continuous refueling to become
life-energizing, a lifelong love? The road to any love is strewn
with impediments and any one of them can be too much if passion
runs out of gas. Steve and Maria faced many of them - their past
personal demons; ex's; their children; friends; religious and
educational differences; work; money; illness; former loves; and
different interests created problems.Yet, can an extraordinary
passion for each other and an equally extraordinary passion for
theirs and the others' "magical" children be enough to overcome the
apparently high probabilities of the impossibility of maintaining
one or both of their passions? You decide.

This is a on-going project that startet just for fun back in 1989.
putting words together in verious ways to see if it gave eny
meaning and then found out that it was a new way to express my
self. So this is the first of five books to come in the near
future. They all have a red line or a silver thread that comebind
them together as one. there are 150 poems with 30 in ich book
spaning 15 years from 1989-2004. Ich title give you a base idear
but no real insight that i leave to the reader to figger out for
all the books in the series. Oh yeah and I can't spell, .
THE COMPLETE TEACHER results in greater teacher autonomy, more
cooperative parents, and students who are independent,
self-motivating, and responsible. Everyone is happier and more
fulfilled. in my presentation here are some of the participants
comments. "Once students know you are closely observing them to
help them and you prove that you hear them (good listening skills),
they understand you truly care about them and discipline problems
decrease. I love that." "I never realized that I used coercion so
often in class. I never thought that persuasion was the other side
of the coin and both are means for control. I will try negotiation
as you explained because I do want my students to become more
independent, self-motivated, and responsible." "I plan on
documenting everything now. I get it that it protects the district,
the principal, the student, and me. It provides a pattern of
observations that enable me to make better decisions. Thank you,"
This work, published in five parts, holds a wealth of information
for those researching early families of Missouri. Of the 590 pages
of text, approximately 275 pages are devoted to complete
genealogical histories of more than 800 families, from the five
contiguous counties of St. Charles, Montgomery, Warren, Audrain,
and Callaway. with an additional 54 pages devoted to the life of
Daniel Boone. The book also contains historical information on the
initial days in Missouri, religious matters, affairs of government,
the Indian War, the New Madrid Earthquakes, as well as other
antiquities. Softcover, (1876, 1935), reprinted 2002, 2011, Illus.,
Index, 596 pp.
According to contemporary physics the phenomena of dark matter,
dark energy and quantum wavefunctions exist in the universe. In
this book Robert Rose explores possible links between these three
phenomena from the perspective of the Big Bang. In an attempt to
provide a unified picture of the universe Rose speculates that
these three phenomena are very deeply interconnected.
CHALLENGING PRACTICALLY EVERYTHING
In ABUSES of POWER Dr. Rose is relentless in examining how power
is abused by everyone involved in education. Rose believes that the
questions we ask determine the answers we get. When you ask the
wrong questions you get the wrong solutions.
When schools asked, "Why are minority parents not supportive of
their children?" The answer was, "They don't care."
Dr. Rose asked, "What do we do that keeps minority parents
away?"
Answer. 'We don't listen to or respect them, but dictate what we
want from them."
Schools. "Why don't kids pay attention."
Answer, "They are stupid, don't care, or have family or culture
problems."
Rose. "Why should kids pay attention?"
Answer, "Because I show I care about them, I listen to and
negotiate solutions with them. I find their interests and explore
them with them."
Schools. "Why don't teachers do a better job?"
Answer. "They're only interested in higher pay and benefits."
Dr. Rose. "How can we get teachers to be more successful?'"
Answer. "Give teachers more academic freedom, autonomy, and respect
for each to discover the best ways to teach."
Free public education is considered one of our most important
freedoms. Yet, most feel our system is not working.
Joining philosophy of language with phenomenological aesthetics,
this book defines the epistemological status of abstract objects
and works of art.
Beginning with a provocative conversation between Socrates,
Plato, Wittgenstein, and Jung, the book introduces the concept, and
coins the term, "Platonic Inductive Fallacy," deriving from a cycle
of language games. The author then invokes Robert Stalnaker to
clarify the difference between real and actual objects, which gives
new insight into the epistemology of abstract objects.
Armed with defined abstract objects, the reader is taken through
a fascinating journey from 1890s aestheticism to present-day
phenomenological aesthetics. The book clearly establishes
principles and methods for defining works of art, and applies them
to two versions of a Henry James novella. The clear definitions and
inventive methods, supported with impressive, detailed research,
lead to compelling and well-taken conclusions.
This journey pays off with important and exciting results.
I want everyone, not just new and veteran teachers, to see what is
possible, not just what exists in teaching. Without joy and hope
life is - lifeless I relate honestly some of my failures and worst
mistakes as well as some of the greatest moments of the first
fifteen years of my fifty years of teaching. When I tell these
stories I still get thrilled or teary-eyed as my students outdid my
fondest hopes. I began with little knowledge of what education
could (should) be. I taught the way I had been taught. I talked and
they sat quietly. My second year I was in a master's program in
psychology and I learned about Biochemical Individuality. I was
astonished at the uniqueness of each individual. I began developing
ways to individualize instruction, but it caused my program to be
unbalanced. I wanted them to be become independent, self-motivated,
socialized, and responsible for their actions. I realized that I
had to mix my interactions by having them learn in pairs, triads,
small groups, and whole class. Strict individualization was as bad
as straight lecturing. I called the result the Self-Sustaining
Classroom. It took years to perfect it, but I was attempting more
ways to help them achieve responsible independence. Despite
pressures to do otherwise, I managed to offer my students a total
program with the so-called 'frills" that not only brought them to
school, but stimulated many parts of their brain. I was
"touchy-feely" because children want and need the physical and
emotional components in their relationship with their teacher. I
attribute my success to my enjoyment of teaching children, my
eclectic reading, and my determination to be my own person and do
what I believed was best for the children. Teachers need autonomy
With the legal freedom to discover their Teaching Style and to
express it without fear, teachers will enable children to find
their Learning Style and all will realize their potentials.
