Four-part BBC adaptation of Hanif Kureishi's semi-autobiographical novel about a young mixed-race 17-year-old growing up in South London in the 1970s. Young Karim Amir (Naveen Andrews)'s teenage existence is radically altered when his Pakistani father gives up his civil service job and suburban lifestyle to become a spiritual guru. Karim soon discovers sex, drugs, acting and punk music as he enters a phase of experimentation to discover his true identity.

Gay-themed American drama. The film follows gay brothers Chet and Todd (Mark Strano and Frankie Valenti) as they reunite in their Californian home town after the death of their father. While Chet remained behind to run their father's hardware store, Todd fled their conservative upbringing to move to L.A. at the age of 18. Back together again in their home town, the brothers clash as Todd pursues Chet's old high school crush, Brandon (Gregory Marcel) and Chet wrestles with his feelings of envy towards his brother for leaving him to care for their father.
Bradley Cooper stars in this drama directed by John Wells as chef Adam Jones. The film follows Adam as he attempts to rebuild his life and career after a period of erratic, drug-fuelled, behaviour led to him losing his restaurant. Adam moves to London from New Orleans where his former maitre d' Tony (Daniel Brühl) reluctantly employs him as head chef at his fine-dining establishment. But to Adam this is only a stepping stone to his real dream - to open a restaurant of his own and achieve a three Michelin star rating.
Ben Foster and Chris O'Dowd star in this sports drama about the Lance Armstrong doping scandal which was the subject of David Walsh's book 'Seven Deadly Sins'. Irish sports journalist David Walsh (O'Dowd) grows suspicious of professional cyclist Lance Armstrong (Foster)'s success, certain that he has been taking performance-enhancing drugs. As Walsh investigates, looking for evidence to prove his theory, Armstrong continues to deny his consumption of banned substances. The cast also includes Lee Pace, Dustin Hoffman and Guillaume Canet.

Guillermo Arriaga writes and directs this multi-narrative drama starring Charlize Theron and Kim Basinger. Sylvia (Theron) is the icily professional manager of an upmarket restaurant who spends her spare time having meaningless sex with different men. Gina (Basinger) is a married housewife and mother of four who begins an affair with Nick (Joaquim de Almeida), a Mexican-American man who is also married with a family. Maria (Jennifer Lawrence) is a teenager searching for the mother who abandoned her when she was two days old. The various strands and connections between the characters are gradually revealed throughout the film in Arriaga's signature style, previously seen in his collaborations with director Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu: 'Amores Perros', '21 Grams' and 'Babel'. |
