When American producers Harry Saltzman and Albert Broccoli acquired the rights to adapt Ian Fleming's 'James Bond' novels for the big screen they couldn't have dreamt of the success they would find. However, as the franchise became a licence to print money conflict inevitably emerged, causing Saltzman and Broccoli to fall out with their lead actor, Sean Connery, then each other. Despite the increasingly fraught drama behind the scenes, the on-screen drama of the Bond films has continued to draw audiences to the cinema 50 years after the release of the first film, 'Dr No' (1962). Despite its glossy publicity campaign, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel for the Elderly and Beautiful turns out to be rather different from the refurbished luxury hotel advertised in the brochures. However, as the previously lonely people grow closer, the hotel soon begins to reveal some unexpected charms of its own. 'Life of Pi' (2012) is an Academy Award-winning fantasy adventure based on Yann Martel's Booker Prize-winning novel. Suraj Sharma stars as Pi Patel, a 16-year-old zookeeper's son from Pondicherry who finds himself stranded on a small boat in the Pacific Ocean in the company of a hyena, a zebra, an orangutan and a Bengal tiger following the shipwreck of the freighter on which he and his family were sailing for Canada. Over the course of several months Pi manages to survive on the meagre supplies of food and water he finds on the boat, and also takes up fishing, while in his half-delirious state he muses on various aspects of animal behaviour, religion and the meaning of life.

When a new employee known only as The Fool (Joe Anderson) arrives for his first day of work, he is alarmed to find his new boss murdered and the entire building rigged with explosives. 'Zombie Apocalypse' (2011) is a made-for-TV horror starring Ving Rhames in which a group of human survivors of a zombie outbreak set out to make it to an uninfected island. Ramona (Taryn Manning), Billy (Eddie Steeples) and Kevin (Gerald Webb) are almost killed when they head out to search for food. Fortunately for them, they meet a tough group that includes Henry (Rhames) and Cassie (Lesley-Ann Brandt), who take on the zombies with weapons as diverse as a sledgehammer and a samurai sword. 'Abraham Lincoln Vs Zombies' (2012) is a tongue-in-cheek zombie horror in which Abraham Lincoln is distracted from his composition of the Gettysburg Address by a more pressing concern - an outbreak of the undead. Lincoln (Bill Oberst Jr.) leads a team of Secret Service agents to the area to try and contain the disaster. There is a suggestion that Lincoln may have some experience of dealing with zombies from his past and he takes under his wing a youngster by the name of Teddy Roosevelt (Canon Kuipers), who may have a role of his own to play in the American story. 'The Dead' (2010) is a zombie horror set in West Africa. Robert Freeman stars as Lieutenant Brian Murphy, a military engineer who finds himself stranded in the wilderness of Burkina Faso after a zombie outbreak lays waste to civilisation. Eventually he teams up with Sergeant Daniel Dembele (Prince David Oseia), a local soldier who has gone AWOL from the army to search for his missing son.

Trible bill of the TV animation series following builder Bob (voice of Neil Morrissey) and his gang of vehicles. In 'Can-do Crew' the team fix an old pier and build a surf school. Following members of a Clydeside clan headed by Mary Corrigan (Steele and later June Watson), the programme follows three generations of the family over the course of one hundred years as they face some of the most trying circumstances in British political history including Bloody Friday of 1919 where workers marched through Glasgow demanding a 40-hour working week and the pandemonium of the miner's strike of 1984.
