Justine was the Marquis de Sade's first novella, written in
1787, whilst imprisoned for two weeks in the Bastille. Although
published anonymously, de Sade was eventually indicted for
blasphemy and obscenity (without trial) for the authorship of
Justine at the behest of Napoleon Bonaparte.
Who suffers in the pursuit of desire?
The Countess de Lorsange reveals her history, in a tavern, to a
young woman named Therese; where a young girl and her sister fight
a battle of morality. Set in a period before the French Revolution,
Justine shows the battle of virtue versus vice, where earning your
keep takes on fresh connotations, and a titled lady holds a
lifetime of illicit secrets."
Seduction, deceit, and bloody mayhem are the key ingredients in
this third and final part of the Deep Throat Diva saga, where Pasha
Allen's insatiable appetite for revenge takes on a sensual twist
when unexpected desire threatens to disrupt everything she's worked
so hard to destroy.
"Toying with one's prey can be a far more delicious thrill..."
And Pasha does just that in "Ruthless: Deep Throat Diva 3 "when she
finds herself playing a far more dangerous game than Russian
roulette. It's a game of vengeance. From spineless to ruthless,
Pasha is spinning in a vicious wheel of tit-for-tat, as she and the
father of her son become two warring ex-lovers hell-bent on
destroying the other.
Still, becoming a killer was never a part of the plan.
However, in the blink of an eye and the pull of a trigger, her
thirst for vengeance has turned bloody and now there is no turning
back. But for every wrong, there's always a price to pay. And, for
Pasha, it's time to collect. Armed with the names of most of the
men behind her attack, she's ready to strike Using her seductive
charm, along with the help of more than one ally to help her bring
her assailants down, Pasha lures her victims in and stops at
nothing, leaving no bed unturned--or man untouched, to serve them
all a dish of street justice, one by one. Mercilessly.
A handsome young copywriter at an advertising agency has a problem:
horny girls make him nervous. In his eyes, they look like wild
beasts attacking their prey, and he's not eager to be feasted upon.
In this outlandish sex comedy that explores the feral nature of
sexuality, witness the world through the eyes of a man being
stalked by sexy beasts--in his view, a veritable menagerie of
animals all ready to pounce on him!
Knowing Women is a study of same-sex desire in West Africa, which
explores the lives and friendships of working-class women in
southern Ghana who are intimately involved with each other. Based
on in-depth research of the life histories of women in the region,
Serena O. Dankwa highlights the vibrancy of everyday same-sex
intimacies that have not been captured in a globally pervasive
language of sexual identity. Paying close attention to the women's
practices of self-reference, Dankwa refers to them as 'knowing
women' in a way that both distinguishes them from, and relates them
to categories such as lesbian or supi, a Ghanaian term for female
friend. In doing so, this study is not only a significant
contribution to the field of global queer studies in which both
women and Africa have been underrepresented, but a starting point
to further theorize the relation between gender, kinship, and
sexuality that is key to queer, feminist, and postcolonial
theories. This title is also available as Open Access on Cambridge
Core.
Wanting You to Want Me is a collection of anonymous stories from
the world of London strip clubs, documented by the women
themselves. The stories range from behind-the-scenes conversations
in the changing rooms, to dance-floor and private room etiquette,
from emotional and intellectual connections between dancer and
client, to the often-blurred boundaries that exist in between.
Authors Bronwen Parker-Rhodes and Emily Dinsdale have collected
stories and images from the women working in the London strip clubs
over several years. Having been part of the industry themselves,
they have a unique and intimate access to the seldom-heard stories,
giving voice to an age-old industry, from the perspective of the
traditionally voiceless dancers. Supported by original, behind the
scenes photography, these narratives express vulnerability,
empowerment, dark humour, and tenderness, while exploring the
intricacies of the curious relationships and unlikely friendships
fostered in this unique environment.
From 'The Story of O' to 'The Sexual Life of Catherine M.', readers
have been enthralled with sexually subversive memoirs by women. But
even those erotic classics don't navigate the psychosexual terrain
that Toni Bentley covers when she meets a lover who introduces her
to a radical and unexpected pleasure. 'Ms Bentley belongs to the
tradition of D.H. Lawrence, Norman Mailer, Henry Miller and Anais
Nin, which sees sex as an avenue to the mystical and sublime.' New
York Times Few women do it, and even fewer will admit to it. But in
Toni Bentley's daring and intimate memoir she pulls the sheets back
on an erotic experience that has been forbidden since the Bible.
'The Surrender' is a witty, intelligent and eloquent exploration of
one woman's obsession that will be sure to leave readers
questioning their own desires.
Living alone in New York, Frannie teaches creative writing to a
motley bunch of students, and secretly compiles a dictionary of
street slang: virginia, n., vagina; snapper, n., vagina; brasole,
n., vagina. One evening at a bar, she stumbles upon a man, his face
in shadow, a tattoon on his wrist, a woman kneeling between his
legs. A week later a detective shows up at her door. The woman's
body has been discovered in the park across the street. Soon
Frannie is propelled into a sexual liaison that tests the limits of
her safety and desires, as she begins a terrifying descent into the
dark places that reside deep within her.
A window into a life of insatiable desire and uninhibited sex -
this is Parisian art critic Catherine M.'s account of her sexual
awakening and her unrestrained pursuit of pleasure. From the
glamorous singles clubs of Paris to the Bois de Boulogne, she
describes her erotic experiences in precise and beautiful detail. A
phenomenal bestseller throughout Europe, The Sexual Life of
Catherine M., like Fifty Shades of Grey, breaks with accepted ideas
of sex and examines many alternative manifestations of desire. Told
in spare, elegant prose, her story will shock, enlighten and
liberate you.
'Slippery When Wet' features five salacious stories filled to the
brim with sizzling, steamy girl-on-girl action.
WINNER OF THE 2017 SCOTT MONCRIEFF PRIZE A new translation of
Sade's most notorious, shocking and influential novel. This
disturbing but hugely important text has influenced countless
individuals throughout history: Flaubert and Baudelaire both read
Sade; the surrealists were obsessed with him; film-makers like
Pasolini saw parallels with twentieth-century history in his
writings; and feminists such as Andrea Dworkin and Angela Carter
clashed over him. This new translation brings Sade's provocative
novel into Penguin Classics for the first time, and will reignite
the debate around this most controversial of writers.
