Meet the Arabian Horse is a book for young adults about the Arabian
Horse breed. It tells about the history and origins of the breed,
describes the characteristics of the breed, tells about their
versatility, and presents pictures of many horses engaged in a
variety of disciplines.
A young girl wants nothing else but to ride horses, be around
horses, to have her OWN hore. Read how Liza worked towards her
dream. Travel to Ireland, and read about the ponies Liza rode The
excitement that leads up to her own pony But is this her dream
pony? Or just the most hated pony in town? Ride with Liza all
through her hometown, and see how this tiny free spirit discovered
her true calling
Children are fascinated by animals, especially cute baby ones This
picture book takes kids around a selection of farm animals and
tells the reader the names of the baby ones, and provides some
other intriguing facts about each animal. Then, accompanied by even
more pictures (there is one illustration per page throughout the
book), the children are led through all the animals again, and are
asked a question each time. This will help them to solidify their
learning, while providing an engaging as well as an entertaining
reading experience. Ideal for children between the ages of 2 and 5.
Just how extensive is your or your children's knowledge of farm
animals? Are you able to name which animal gives so many of us wool
for our clothing? Or what a boy chicken is called? Or which animal
has its own set of shoes? Farms are a major part of many countries
and they have provided many different types of food and resources.
Naturally, one of the most important parts of any farm is the
variety of animals that inhabit it. With fewer family farms,
children may be fascinated by but not know much about farm animals.
Children who aren't familiar with animals on a farm are sure to
love learning about them, and how they provide for us. From
chickens, cows, and horses, to rabbits and more, you'll find a wide
variety of questions on all sorts of farm animals presented in a
fun and interactive way. The book is designed not only as a game,
but as a picture book for younger children. The pictures allow for
a greater level of interactivity and education as the kids play and
can relate questions back to the pictures.
This is a book about what you need to know if you want to have a
horse. It is designed for young people in the age range 10-14, but
is flexible enough for other ages. It describes some of the
background of the horse, various aspects of choosing a horse, horse
care, and things one can do with a horse.
Just imagine. If you had the chance to choose the perfect horse or
pony with the colour you'd really, really like, what colour would
you choose? This book - with colour photos - will tell you about
all the horse and pony colours and their combinations and give you
some examples. Then you can pick your favourite colour for your
favourite imaginary horse or pony - and maybe make a second and
third choice just for fun

Visit a farm and learn about all the animals you can find there in
this delightful children's book written and illustrated by Lynne
Pickering. When Jane hears a strange noise on the farm, she wants
to find out which animal is responsible On her way to find out "who
done it," she learns about the different sounds that animals make.
Her question Is It you? is answered once Jane hears all the
animals. The author owned a childcare center and often wrote
stories and did puppet shows for the children. She says farm
stories were always popular. "When I obtained the little sheep toys
and the calico cows and the calico pigs, I thought they would be
gorgeous in a book. So I painted backgrounds of countryside and
obtained porcelain dolls, creating farm scenes for the characters."
This is her second children's book to be published. Another four
books are also being published. James and the Naughty Seagull,
James and the Greedy Naughty Seagull, James and the Jealous Naughty
Seagull, and The Magic Doorway (a fairy story). Lynne Pickering
resides in Warwick, Queensland, Australia. She paints art and
exports art worldwide. Most of her children's books were written
over ten years ago. She revised them and edited them to be
published. "We intend to open an art gallery and coffee shop at our
country retreat where friends can come and enjoy the many rare bird
species and wildlife." Publisher's website: http:

Ann was not too happy about camping every weekend with her family.
When she was little it was fun, however, being a teenager had
changed things. Every weekend her parents forced her to go camping
with them. Ann was so fed up with it all. She was trying to devise
a way in which she could convince her father that it was ok to let
her stay home. That was when her dad told the family that he had a
surprise for the whole family. It turned out that he had joined a
ranch. The whole family would now be camping at the Double D Ranch
EVERY weekend. The thought of becoming a member of some horse ranch
just about drove Ann crazy. She did not put much faith into the
idea. In fact "dorky" would be a word that she expected would
describe the ranch. Come along with Ann as you discover her view of
the Double D Ranch.

able to build his home throughout the town. Using different
recyclable materials, the winning pig must satisfy the city
inspector (a descendant of the Big Bad Wolf ). The story ends with
the wolf purchasing an ecological home that has several modern
changes, and the winning pig hiring his two cousins. This is one
home that no one can huff and puff and blow the house down Richard

The mustangs are the free-roaming horses of the North American
west. They first descended from the horses brought to North America
by the Spaniards. Most mustang aficionados refer to mustangs as
wild horses. Those who consider the mustangs to be nothing more
than pests introduced into the ecosystem after the disappearance of
the true North American wild horse in the ice-age (Equus ferus
ferus) call them feral, because they descended from horses
once-domesticated, and also because they want the land and
resources for domestic cattle. In every sense the mustangs have
returned to their original wild state; however, as they can survive
without the help or hinderance of man, who once drove them off
cliffs, used them as a food source and discarded them on this
continent once their use was no longer needed. They are a part of
our history and in 1971, the United States Congress recognized
Mustangs as the "living symbols of the historic and pioneer spirit
of the West that they are The herds vary in the degree to which
they can be traced to original Iberian horses brought to these
shores by the Spanish, and some contain a stronger genetic make-up
of ranch stock and other breeds, the species having interbred with
either abandoned stock, or escaped domestic stock. Those herds in
isolated locales are genetically closer to original Spanish Iberian
stock. Mustangs are beautiful creatures whose future, although
today still debatable, that have survived though abandonment,
slaughter, and worse. However, in spite of everything they have
managed to adapt and survive making them true 'Comeback Kids.'
Enjoy the photographs of John D. Weigand and the poetry of award
winning author, attorney and former teacher Penelope Dyan,
investigate and then ask yourself whether the mustangs have
restored an ecological balance interupped by the ice age, or
whether they do not belong here at all; and then ask yourself
whether we belong here at all, having brought them here. Perhaps we
are the feral pests and not the mustangs.

While I was working as a facilitator for Grieving Children
Irealized how limited the material was on helping children go
throughthe grieving process. Consequently I wrote this book. The
story is true and the races horses are real. Luck Ahead wasour
first race horse and she lived to be 24. She had many babiesthat
had babies of their own. This story tells about all the
happymemories she left behind. How to be a race horse, about some
of hermost exciting races and about watching her babies grow.
Children can be sad but they should remember the happy timesand be
glad of all the wonderful memories. Luck Ahead's babies hada lot of
happy memories.
