The sequential analysis of data and information gathered from past to present is called time series analysis. Time series data are of high dimension, large size and updated continuously. A time series depends on various factors like trend, seasonality, cycle and irregular data set, and is basically a series of data points well-organized in time. Time series forecasting is a significant area of machine learning. There are various prediction problems that are time-dependent and these problems can be handled through time series analysis. Computational intelligence (CI) is a developing computing approach for the forthcoming several years. CI gives the litheness to model the problem according to given requirements. It helps to find swift solutions to the problems arising in numerous disciplines. These methods mimic human behavior. The main objective of CI is to develop intelligent machines to provide solutions to real world problems, which are not modelled or too difficult to model mathematically. This book aims to cover the recent advances in time series and applications of CI for time series analysis.

It is the aim of this book to take undergraduates in science and engineering to an acceptable level of competence in network analysis. The author assumes no previous knowledge of the subject. The book starts from basic physical ideas and progresses through essential network laws and theorems to Fourier and Laplace transform methods of analysing transient and steady-state problems. Traditional transient and alternating-current theory is covered prior to introducing transform methods, since the author believes that the gain in physical insight from such an approach is invaluable. Throughout, the relevance of the analysis to practical electric and electronic circuits is stressed. This book will be of value to students in universities and polytechnics in physics and electrical and electronics engineering departments.

The book comprises a new method of solving the integral equation of Leontovich, the most rigorous and most effective equation for the current in thin linear antennas. The book describes the features of the new method in its application in various types of antennas. It considers new ways of analyzing antennas, in particular in the calculation of an antenna gain based on main radiation patterns and the calculation of the directional characteristics of radiators with known distribution of current amplitude. The method of electrostatic analogy proposed by the author, provides the base for comparison of electromagnetic fields of high-frequency currents and electrostatic charges located on linear conductors to improve the directional characteristics of log-periodic and director-type antennas. A new approach to the analysis of the electrical characteristics of a microstrip antenna, which allows expansion of its operation range, is substantiated and developed. New results of antenna synthesis are obtained. The second part of the book is devoted to specific types of antennas (the author had a significant role in their creation). Particular attention is given to ship antennas for different frequency ranges. The book is intended for professionals, working in electrodynamics and those working on development, placement and exploitation of antennas. It will be useful for lecturers (university-level professors), teachers, students of radio engineering and researchers working in various fields of radio electronics and interested in an in-depth study of theoretical problems and designs f antennas. It can also be used for short university courses.

This book introduces a cross-layer design to achieve security and resilience for CPSs (Cyber-Physical Systems). The authors interconnect various technical tools and methods to capture the different properties between cyber and physical layers. Part II of this book bridges the gap between cryptography and control-theoretic tools. It develops a bespoke crypto-control framework to address security and resiliency in control and estimation problems where the outsourcing of computations is possible. Part III of this book bridges the gap between game theory and control theory and develops interdependent impact-aware security defense strategies and cyber-aware resilient control strategies. With the rapid development of smart cities, there is a growing need to integrate the physical systems, ranging from large-scale infrastructures to small embedded systems, with networked communications. The integration of the physical and cyber systems forms Cyber-Physical Systems (CPSs), enabling the use of digital information and control technologies to improve the monitoring, operation, and planning of the systems. Despite these advantages, they are vulnerable to cyber-physical attacks, which aim to damage the physical layer through the cyber network. This book also uses case studies from autonomous systems, communication-based train control systems, cyber manufacturing, and robotic systems to illustrate the proposed methodologies. These case studies aim to motivate readers to adopt a cross-layer system perspective toward security and resilience issues of large and complex systems and develop domain-specific solutions to address CPS challenges. A comprehensive suite of solutions to a broad range of technical challenges in secure and resilient control systems are described in this book (many of the findings in this book are useful to anyone working in cybersecurity). Researchers, professors, and advanced-level students working in computer science and engineering will find this book useful as a reference or secondary text. Industry professionals and military workers interested in cybersecurity will also want to purchase this book.
The book is designed to serve as a textbook for courses offered to undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in Electrical Engineering. The first edition of this book was published in 2014. As there is a demand for the next edition, it is quite natural to take note of the several advances that have occurred in the subject over the past five years. This is the prime motivation for bringing out a revised second edition with a thorough revision of all the chapters. The book presents a clear and comprehensive introduction to signals and systems. For easier comprehension, the course contents of all the chapters are in sequential order. Analysis of continuous-time and discrete-time signals and systems are done separately for easy understanding of the subjects. The chapters contain over seven hundred numerical examples to understand various theoretical concepts. This textbook also includes numerical examples that were appeared in recent examinations and presented in a graded manner. The topics such as the representation of signals, convolution, Fourier Series and Fourier Transform, Laplace transform, Z-transform, and state-space analysis are explained with a large number of numerical examples in the book. The detailed coverage and pedagogical tools make this an ideal textbook for students and researchers enrolled in electrical engineering and related courses.

Why learn functional programming? Isn't that some complicated ivory-tower technique used only in obscure languages like Haskell? In fact, functional programming is actually very simple. It's also very powerful, as Haskell demonstrates by throwing away all the conventional programming tools and using only functional programming features. But it doesn't have to be done that way. Functional programming is a power tool that you can use in addition to all your usual tools, to whatever extent your current mainstream language supports it. Most languages have at least basic support. In this book we use Python and Java and, as a bonus, Scala. If you prefer another language, there will be minor differences in syntax, but the concepts are the same. Give functional programming a try. You may be surprised how much a single power tool can help you in your day-to-day programming.
